I am EXTREMELY excited for it. I made a post of it a while ago. I don't have any games atm.. just waiting for this one.
I never got to finish Ocarina and I forgot a lot about the game so.. this will be great.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Not totally excited since its a game I beat over and over again and they released almost a half dozen times now, but on the upside atleast this time its portable which is my sole reason for buying this since I am not always home anymore.
So like Super Mario 64 DS it will be good nostalgia when I am out and about from time to time.

I don't think I'd play this version all over again even with the enhanced visuals. And that's the word, "enhanced," which is significantly different than a true remake.EXEraserVS
... I'm a bit disappointed that it's not a true remake...GamerForcaRemakes don't generally prove better than their source material- case in point, the Goldeneye 007 remake: by the time I finished it(well before then, actually, if I'm going to be completely honest), I was wishing for a straight port of the 64 classic. Closer to the topic, though, I watched both of my older brothers play through OoT when it was first released, so I never played it myself. Excited? A bit, I suppose.
I didn't really enjoy OoT (or MM, or any 3D Zelda, for that matter) much at all, so I honestly can't wait for it to be released simply because people will stop talking about it so much. (You know how hype over the vidya is.)

Thank you all. :DI've never played a Zelda game in my life, apart from 5 mins on Link's Awakening, but i doubt that counts. Anyway I am quite excited for it this friday :)
I don't know. I'm kind of on the fence about it, and I don't know about this whole remake idea and all that, but being the huge Zelda fan that I am I feel like I sort of need it. It will certainly be really fun, there's no doubt about that... but I dislike the direction that Nintendo is going with the 3DS: remakes remakes remakes.

...or maybe (s)he just has a different opinion than everyone else? You can be an adult and not like Ocarina of Time. There's not a problem with that. :?
In all seriousness,i don't think it's possible to be a Zelda fan(or gamer in general)and not like Ocarina of Time.
I'd like an explanation,please.:/

But it is possible. Oreo doesn't like the game and is a gamer.
Is it wrong to not like a game that most people like? Is it wrong to say that you dislike "the greatest game of all time," yet you are a proud Zelda fan/gamer?
Is it wrong to have a different opinion? Different taste of games? A favorite genre that's different than yours?
Why is it impossible for one gamer out of millions to not like Ocarina Of Time? Maybe that gamer prefers Majora's Mask, Wind Waker or Twilight Princess over OoT?
I think I'm the one who needs an explanation of why it's not possible to dislike OoT.

He said he doesn't think it's possible for a Zelda fan to dislike Ocarina of Time, and while I'm sure a few Zelda fans might dislike it... I doubt the majority of them do. I know I perfer Majora's Mask and most of the 2D Zelda games to OoT, but I don't dislike OoT one bit. OoT is the blueprint for Majora's Mask, Windwaker, and every other 3D Zelda game that came out after it... there's not much to dislike if you're a fan of Zelda.

There are only two, Starfox and OoT, don't know about the former but OoT is outsourced so they aren't doing this in the place of another game; it's a win win situation.
Enhanced graphics, on the go, increased fps, improved interface, 10 years ago I played the game, it's in 3D (journalists have reported that it feels natural to play this game in 3D so it's not just a gimmick).. I'm ready.

If it weren't for Metroid Prime, I'd think this argument was so much mularkey; I never liked any of the Prime games- including Hunters- but the GBA Metroid games were some of the best games for the system. [QUOTE="DJ_Lae"] It's Ocarina of Time. Again. Who hasn't played it half a dozen times already(me- see my post above), as part of its various incarnations over the years? Celebrating its porting is just reinforcing to Nintendo that minimal effort will be rewarded. the last statement here is ridiculous- the game that made the leap from the top-down viewpoint to full 3D(the biggest milestone in the Zelda franchise to date) should be celebrated. And Nintendo has their own plans- you think they're going to think, "OoT was so huge again, let's scrap all our projects and just rehash our whole N64 catalogue"? Nonsense. The classics will have their hey day here at the opening when pickings are slim. The real games come later- the 3DS has got at least 6 years ahead of itself so relax.

I could say the same thing about some of my favorite games, like Radiant Silvergun, Nier, and Sin & Punishment, but the fact remains that there's different strokes for different folks.

Key word: Nintendo.
They aren't responsible for other publisher's games.
Ocarina of Time is a beautiful game, and Nintendo is working really hard to make this remake special and not just a cash-in.
The problem for me is that I've owned three separate versions of Ocarina of Time - the N64 version, the GameCube Master Quest version (pre-order bonus for Wind Waker), and the Zelda Collector's Edition disc for GameCube. If I wanted to play it again, I'd just boot up one of those. The sole addition of 3D is not enough to make me pay $40 for it.
Honestly though, the game will easily sell over a million and is great for those that never finished or played it. For me though, I'm skipping it. Waiting for Super Mario to get my 3DS.
How can you not be excited for what is consiered by many as "the greatest game of all time", now with updated graphics and easier gameplay (thanks to the touch screen)?
AvatarMan96
This! Its widely considered the greatest game of all time for a reason even though personally it isnt my favorite any longer (since oblivion). I fell in love with it back in 98' when I was just 16 and personally I cannot wait to experience it again with the 3d visuals. For those saying the enhanced visuals are not enough,... I would doubt your true feelings for the Legend that is Zelda.
See you in Hyrule suckas!!
Peace.

spirit tracks is one of my favorite zelda games. i think the only ones i like more are minish cap, twilight princess, and the almighty king Wind Waker. i'd say ST is on the same level of majora's mask to me.Please Log In to post.
