Be honest... we paid $250 for what exactly. Ocarina of Time was a nice feature... but that is already getting old. The weekly 3DS store release are nothing short of a bad joke.

No one held a gun to my head but I am already looking to unload this thing. What did we pay $250 for?

This is exactly why I didn't buy one yet. There's hardly any games out for it yet, and by the time they do, the 3DS will probably be cheaper.

I don't know what you're talking about- I've got 7 retail games, 2 VC games and 2 DSiWare games- I'm loving my 3ds and(with 2 exceptions) all of my games for it.

Nope. I only have 3 retail games and loving it. You need to remember that when buying a gaming system early on in its life span means that you will probably have to do some waiting before any good games show up.

To be quite honest, I might have regretted my purchase some time during the first few days of ownership. But then I got Ocarina of Time, now I can't put the 3DS down. Seriously, that is about all I need and now that I've seen how intuitive the system handles aiming (gyroscope thing), I can't wait for Star Fox. Also, I have to admit I doubted the cradle, but the thing is just awesome, I'm yet to have the 3DS die on me and I get to enjoy almost full brightness with the occasional 3D viewing.

It's been the platform I've been playing the most this year.

Pilotwings Resort is still something I have to finish, I haven't done the free flight mode collecting nor have I got 3 stars on all the challenges. I still play Super Street Fighter IV 3D time to time and I beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (my first time playing OoT) and now I'm going to do the Master Quest version. I downloaded Shantae: Risky's Revenge, Plants vs Zombies and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, all of which I haven't played before, so I have that to do. I still haven't finished Pokemon Black or Dragon Quest IX, so I have those as well. SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked is releasing in August, so I have that to look forward to as well since I never got a chance to play it on the DS. Then I have Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart 3D, Tales of the Abyss and more to look forward to during the Fall.

I'm not regretting it thus far.

I only have OoT so far and I think the system looks to be quite awesome. Great games are coming.

Since I don't think I'll get a much better deal than I did anytime soon, I don't regret getting one.

no I'm not regreting it at all, I enjoy Dead Or Alive: Dimensions, Resident Evil The Mercenaries and Zelda OOT...a price drop to $199 is going to happen in the fall though(around the time Vita Releases) I'm sure of that, or a Mario Kart Bundle or something for $249.99

I'm not :) Sure Ocarina of time is the only really big game out at the moment but by the end of the year there will be pretty badass line up of games out (eg Starfox, Kid Icarus, MGS3, Mario 3DS, Mariokart 3DS). And I doubt the 3DS will be any cheaper by then hence why I didnt bother waiting around to get one. If i waited around to get one I would have probably ended up paying the same anyway so I figured I'd get one at launch. That being said I managed to save almost 50 euro on it anyway by ordering mine form Amazon.

No.

The 3DS has many great games lined up to come out in the future. I, for one, can hold onto my console for a few more months to wait for the good games to come out. Honestly I don't understand how I could regret it.

No I don't regret it. So far I have played a fair amount of the games available and have been impressed. I agree that the lineup has hit a bit of a snag with nothing major really coming out in the near future. However I have been more than happy to spen dmy money in the eshop instead of at reail now. I never had a DSi so I was not able to experience a good number of DSiWare games that had always intrigued me. Now I have that ability. Being able to play games like Cave Story, Santae, Art Style, etc help to offset there not being a lot available at retail. Plus while there is nothing major coming out at the moment. Coem Sept there will be the bigs one like Star Fox, etc that will remind you of why you bought a 3DS.

No, too busy having fun playing the games for it, and I got $50 off with a certificate anyway, so I didn't even pay full price. Lots of fun games, not just Zelda.

If you're getting tired of Ocarina of Time, get more games. I for one regret nothing. I'm loving it.

I love my 3DS.

It's great if you don't already own any kind of DS.

Just keep it and wait for Mario 3D, Mario Kart 3D and Kid icarus.

Then next year we'll get Luigi's Mansion, Paper Mario, etc.

Nope. I bought both OoT 3DS for it and Dead or Alive:Dimensions. I also downloaded Kirby's Dreamland,Super Mario Land and Link's Awakening from the 3DS shop. I dont regret buying it at all.

To be honest, I do just a tad bit. Games are not much of a problem, I got 5 which were all great in their own ways, its just the system itself. The 3d viewing angle is fine if I'm at home and not moving, but forget it if im on the go. Battery life is also pretty bad. The top screen imprints from the bottom is also a disappointment. I probably should have waited for the next iteration, but its not too bad. I still have fun with it, and once the next updated 3ds comes out, I'll probably trade this one in for it. The difference may be what 50-100$ to play a 3ds for the first 2 years? Not too bad.

you payed 250 to experience 3d without glasses...its like paying 100 dollars to go to disneyland.

i had 3 vists to disneyland... pilotwings, rayman 3d, and zelda ocarina of time.... so i got my 300$ moneys worth 8)

also the virtual console is the definitive way to play gameboy and gameboy color games....just wait for the store to get 100 titles or so..

I see your point, I actually use my DS lite more than the 3DS.

I agree with the arguement about the games, although I'm not really that bothered as I'm sure there'll be a few dropping soon that I'll be keen for...

What upsets me more (and I argued this on the day of release) is that Nintendo seem to have not really put anything forward at release that really has excited me so far... feel like they should have held off and put the system out with a few more games. Also the advertising in Australia was practically non existent.

The weekly 3DS store release are nothing short of a bad joke.

Morrinator
I'm not too disappointed with my purchase, although the store was a joke on the Wii and DSi and expecting different for the 3DS is a bit foolish. It's already been proven Nintendo has absolutely no idea how to handle online of any kind.

I haven't been using it much. Haven't really had the time to get too into Ocarina, either. I don't regret buying it, quite, as there will be great games I'm sure. However, I won't lie and say the PSV looks like it could be really really sweet. I only want one portable, so....

I regret buying it so early, basically because there is not enough games for it yet and because the price has dropped considerably in my area since launch.

I do not, I only have one retail game for it as of now (Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars) which I have yet to beat, but I plan to pick up Ocarina of Time, Dead or Alive: Demensions, and either some old Nintendo DS games I missed or a download card to get some virtual console games tomorrow. I love the 3DS and it made a 3D believer out of me.

Nope. I like what the 3DS offers beyond just games. I had a DS Lite so I couldn't use any online capabilities. Plus, my DS Lite hated my home's Wifi. There was almost nothing for me beyond games. Now I can go on the internet, use a camera, shop for VC games, and more. I know people have griped about the 3DS but to be honest, it's amazing and I love it. Sure, many great games aren't out yet but they will be and I'd rather have the system and wait then have the games come out and try to struggle on buying the system and those games at once.

I bought one with full knowledge that there were only really a couple of games for it. I don't regret it because I knew what I was getting into. If Nintendo suddenly abandoned it out of nowhere, yes I'd regret my purchase. Actually, I'd be outraged.

Since that isn't likely to happen, I'm eagerly awaiting several releases for this year.

You paid 250 for all the great games that are coming out at the end of the year and next year, which is what happens with EVERY Nintendo system... Hell, it happens with just about EVERY system in general... Be patient. The games will come.

I feel like people forget that with every Nintendo system. Think back and tell me what the last Nintendo system was that didn't have a bad launch? It's not easy.

SNES had Super Mario World and F-Zero. N64 had Super Mario 64. Gamecube had Monkey Ball, Wave Race, and Luigi's Mansion. Wii had Wii Sports and Zelda (albeit a Gamecube port). Their handhelds have had pretty awful launches, although I would say that so far, the 3DS is doing better than the DS. The DS had an abomination of a first year with the only real standouts being crap like the Mario 64 port with its silly thumbstrap nub.

Nope. It's getting the same treatment I gave my DSlite when I first got it; taking it everywhere with me, sleeping with it, and completely ignoring any other device since I'm constantly using it. :P

I didn't buy one. At launch is typically the worst time to buy a console because that's when it has the least games to choose from and is the most expensive.
