Anyone else upset with the new direction Metroid OTHER M is taking?

Dude honestly we really don't know much involving this new style. What I do know is that the main producer of Super metroid and his team are also on this and the producer said its defiately not going to be all action.

First of all, nobody really knows anything about the game yet, so how could you be upset with the direction it is taking whenever you haven't really heard much about it yet?

It will have sidescrolling platforming as well as first-person fighting it seems, so you shouldn't be that upset.

As for the story...well, from what I have seen I don't know what to think of it yet. All of these new characters might take the series in a different direction than I have come to expect and want from Metroid. I liked all of the characters they introduced in Hunters, and I think Corruption did alright with showing us the NPCs in Samus's world. But having these federation characters come forward to play significant roles, showing Samus's interactions and personalities with them...I don't know. It would be easy to rub fans the wrong way with this game, Tecmo will have to take things seriously and try to aim for a Xenosaga or Halo kind of feel to the character interaction and atmosphere of the federation.

I don't really understand what they're going to be doing with the game tbh. I don't think enough was shown to even fathom what the game will bring. Only time will tell. It seems to mix FP with 2d, and 3rd person gaming. Crazy if they can pull it off.

It must be somewhat close to release though, Nintendo hasn't been showing products off early anymore, so I wouldn't be surprised if it did come out sooner than expected.

Someone said that it will have it's andventure roots still. It will be a normal metroid game guess. I think he also said that the video was a little more action like than what the game acctually is. Don't take my word for it though. I'm not too sure...

anyone else think thats a potential release date? I hope so. But then it would go HEAD TO HEAD with God of War 3. So maybe not a wise move.

I really doubt it. Then it would have to go head to head with SMG 2also...Metroid OM and GOW don't stand a chance! SMG 2 should be Nintendos next big game. After all, Miyamoto basically said, the game could be released this christmas if they didn't choose to have the bigger title for the holidays (NSMB). Whos knows. They could push the release for it even more so MOM can go first.

Prime was a major direction shift and it turned out amazing.
