For those of you that don't already know, Ocarina of Time is being released on the VC tomorow. This is the only game on Gamespot (to my knowledge) that has achieved a perfect 10.0 rating.Actually OoT is 1 out of 4 games on Gamespot to get a 10. OoT is probably the best of them though. The games that also got 10's were Tekken, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (or some such), and some other game... They haven't given a 10 sich Tony Hawk, which they took alot of heat for.
Now I know that Gamespot's rating don't in any way affect (or sometimes reflect *coughcoughtwilightprincesscough*) the quality of a game, but since Gamespot has unintelligently decided to rerate timeless forbidden>SonicTheMonkey

[QUOTE="XBSHX"]TP deserved its score. Do you even know how they rate VC games? they don't rate them based on how great they were back in the day... they rate them based on how they stand up to todays standards.PikaPichuheh, a lot of the more hardcore Nintendo fans in this forum refuse to accept that.
Because they're stubborn and haven't played better games like Oblivion and SOTC and Okami probably..

There's a great many that refuse to accept ANY form of reality. If you're worried that much about what score OoT will get, then buddy I envy you. I wish that topped my list of worries. But IMO, if Gamespot wants to give Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 a 10.0 (as good a game as it was), then the whole system doesn't mean a damned thing to begin with and should be suitably ignored.
OOT, Soul Caliber, Tony Hawk Pro 3, and Chrono Cross are the only games to ever get a perfect, but I highly doubt that the VC review will get any higher than a 9schoony_5ya i wasn't saying it would, i just meant to say it's dumb to go back and rate games again, this isn't even a re-release, it's just a port. my analogy that got cut off was it's like looking at a picture of your high school sweetheart when you're 50 and going "Eeeew, she's way to young for me"

[QUOTE="burfeindt21"]well idk it gave it a 10 the first time, why wouldnt it get it again?PikaPichuBecause there are better games out now like Okami, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask. I'm gonna have to stop you right there. Okami is great and all, but better than Ocarina of time? May I say: lol

theyre only rerating games to show how well theyve held up throught the times.
anyway to answer the main topic question, no, im not worried about gs "tarnishing" OoT.
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast), OoT (N64), ChronoCross (it may have been trigger)Â (PS), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (PS2)
Are all the games that scored a perfect 10 on Gamespot.
Tony Hawk's should NOT be up there.
what the hell does it matter?
one source? i say, screw GS. they can give the VC's OoT a 2 and it'll only show their stupidity... [as goes with any other site]

thats all that really matters as of right now...
they dont grade bytodays standards this has been said a lot. they grade based on how well the game stands up to the test of time otherwise the games would be unfairly rated because of the hit to their graphicsshadowman0610

Actually the 4 games are Chrono Cross, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, and Soul Calibur. They decided to rerate them to tell you if they are still worth your money.

Which, in my opinion, is ridiculous. Unless they go strictly off game play, than the reviews are pointless.
It is my understanding that the N64 games are updated to play in EDTV (the 480i thing) but lose rumble functionality. Am I the only person who remembers that after you unlock the rumble pack you have to use it to find the hidden holes for the sidequests? If rumble pack support goes away entirely, it NEEDS to be replaced by a similar mechanic (some way to know where every hole is). This is not a joke, as it will actually RUIN the experience. The same with fishing, because it's needed for a piece of heart (or two?). No rumble=bad fishing=broken game. This could actually get anywhere from a 9.0 to a 5.0 depending on how many other things relied on rumble.
No joke, everyone who buys the game tomorrow could be crying for a patch to resume the Jigglin.
