I was estatic to hear it was coming to the Wii... I played the 360 version at my cousin's house and I loved it so much. I knew I couldnt afford a 360 but my plan was to buy a used one once the Next Gen comes around just so I could go back and play Dead Rising.
Yes it does seem like its a step down from the 360 version but I am going to give Capcom the benefit of the doubt on this one. They have made some good stuff for the wii with Zack and Wiki and bringing RE4 to the Wii, so I dont question their ability as much as I would a different publisher.
If they don't remove too many zombies: yeah.
Otherwise it'll depend on the control and extra feature of the wii version.

They said they're shooting for 100 zombies on screen at once. In the screenshots I've seen I've counted up to 30. Its also running off of the RE4 Wii engine, which should at least make aiming easier.

Aiming was already easy and there isn't many situation where you will need to/want to aim.
I'm not excited, I already own it. It's good for people that don't own a 360 though.
I am looking forward to it.. Don't own a 360... so even tho the graphics won't match the 360.. which is something I can overlook.. but the game play will be the key factor here.. which I hope holds up well!
(PM me here if you added my Wii Code &/Or any of my game codes... Give me your code so I can add ya!)
No i would rather by a new Wii game. Then of a port of an Xbox 360 game ive already playedKira4
It will be very different from the 360 version. Capcom said they built it all new up for the Wii Version.
The graphics look fine to me, and the fact that Infinte mode is unlocked from the start sounds good to me as well. I'm rather looking forward to it, even though I own a 360 and could easily go out and get it. The Wii version promises a good deal more content and a streamlined interface, take that along with the fact that graphics weren't all that great in the original (the fun factor was) and it seems to be shaping up well enough.jmangafan

After reading the Official Nintendo Magazines article, I couldn't give a toss about the visuals the motion controls sound much more interesting, think Wii Sports but used against zombies, it's more then just a lazy waggle game.
According to that article they are aiming for 'over a hundred' zombies and I was told when a developer says "on screen." they dont mean the number on the actual screen but in the vicinity of the player, So seeing thirty in front of Frank gives no clue to how many surround him, even then for game logic they'll be spread out around the Plazas, you wont be finding stores or anything as packed as those screenshots implied.
It's a slight possibility, but I'd like to see some action and gameplay vids first. I mean, sure, I've seen the 360 version, but I'd like to see how you use the Wii to kill zombies. Once I see that, Capcom knows they have another purchase from me. ;D
Many posters have pointed out Spartan Total Warrior and many others on the last gen consoles having a hundred + characters doing alot more then staggering around.
It's just when Capcom first shown Dead Rising it seemed like a first with all the hype surrounding it, they did say this was possible due to the game using a 'next gen swarm engine' on the back of the box (UK) but after all the posts on various forums presenting videos and shots of it being done in Xbox/PS2 and GC games, it's only served to highlight how far behind Capcom really are. Must be due to doing Resident Evil and Streetfighter the same way for years.
