this is something of serious concern with the wiis future. nintendo are taking time making some really quality wii games. If you think about it, the games that have bee out for Wii havent really been very precisecontrol wise. its just shaking the remote to make your character to something completely different. something that i want to see which im hoping will happen is more free flowing controls. like lets say its a game where your main weapon is a sword. I want your sword to at least be able to to these 9 motions

                                                    _        .        _                      .=jab

                                                       /      |     \

i know that is REALLY dodgy but i think you get the idea i think the gameplay in a game that sports that idea would be great. all the different combos you could do would be immense.but i dont know if im being optimistic but i hope im not i really think that these motion sensing controls COULD be alot more precise than we have prevously seen. i think it could be the developers who are not putting in the hard yards to make these controls really responsive.wat do you guys think... do you think that a swordplay game with that precise sword combat is possible for Wii... or am i dreaming???

I agree completely, maybe for the next Zelda we could have the ability to stab behind us, just by pushing the Wiimote away from the screen, making enemies attacking from behind less dangerous.

i think the Wii's motion sensor capabilities have a lot of potential, but aren't really being used very well. more clumsy than anything...i think the waving of the remote to have link swing his sword could have been done better, in general i do think that the more games that use the Wii's control scheme, the better they will gradually be. right now all in all i'm extremely happy with my Wii, and think that things will only get better and funner.

Who here thinks that TP could have been a lot better had you just pushed a button to swing the sword? *raises hand*

It's really annoying because all you are doing is just going back and forth constantly, and eventually you go nuts, lose focus, and miss completely.

And, who else hear hates backhanding it in tennis on Wii Sports? *raises other hand*

When I'm just hitting it back and forth, the backhand technique will work, BUT THEN WHEN I NEED IT, IT DELAYS AND JUST SWINGS LIKE CRAZY FOR NO REASON!

No me gusta el tenis y no me gusta la legend de pathetic controls.

I have faith that Nintendo knows what they're doing.  They wouldn't release a sketchy system, their name has always been synonymous with quality hardware.
If Wario Ware has taught me anything its that the Wiimote has some serious potential, and is capable of sensing things I diddn't even know it was capable of.  I think everything will be fine.  We're still on the first batch of games here.

yeah i guess you guys are right in the respect that the games will come but other than that swordplay idea i said earlier what other more intricate control sheme for game would you like to see.

personally i would like to see that sword play game aswell as all sports games ingeneral being beffed up control wise cause i think that some sports games like soccer, tennis, football etc could be unbelievebly fun if the controls had that right amount of complication to them.

so what other games would you like to see with intricate controls

im not sure about that

it could be done for sure

but i bet people would think it was cool for a few hours and then they would just get lazy and go back to swinging left and right

i remember playing ultimate alliance for wii where u had to move your controller different ways and i got tired of trying to move it up and down

that happened to me in SSX Blur too. you can do tricks in the air by flicking your remote in a certain way but after a while you just twirl it around any way you want.

controlls like that may happen, but i doubt they will be really appreciated

but thats just my opinion

Personally, I would have said patient;), but I definitely agree with the fact that patience is a virtue we'll all need in order to see Wii games with precise controls

that because those games not using the wiimote right.

for wii tennis, the motion sensetive really add tons of fun in it, and the way you act really helps the game play.

I think the next Zelda game needs to be M rated, and Link needs to be a ninja.

I think that it just takes time to learn a new system. Granted the Wii is in some aspects Gamecube2 but there is quite a bit more to it beyond the hardware, and the motion controls present an obvious setback: its new. Nintendo really has done a great job with the DS and thus far with the Wii. Trust and be patient.

I actually think Wii boxing is good for these kinds of controls (except for the fact that its too hard to select what kind of punch you throw)... It's a lot more like one of those "virtual" games you used to see around... except it's better. If they could bring that mentality to some major releases.... it woould make me a very happy customer.

After reading the new EGM where they say the Wiimote cant tell the differance between short strokes and long strokes kinda sucks. This may factor in to what you are talking about. You can move the controller 1 inch or a full swing in every game and it registers th same. Oh well I love my Wii anyway. Now back to play PM:TTYD. Great game

Yeah? So whats stopping them from making one button for a lunging/long shot/stab? I admit there are some flaws, but a lot of things can be worked around... If Developers take them time to make it completely functional, that is.
