Best METROID game in the Series?

Which is your favourite metroid game?

is it a 2d sidescrolling or3dfps?

I love the metroid series. It is hands down my favourite of all of the nintendo mascots.I have played all of the metroid games except metroid prime 2, and metroid 2 (on the original gameboy). Just recently finished playing super metroid for the very first time and i have to say it was my favourite.

Metroid Prime is my favorite followed by Super Metroid. Metroid Prime is the game that really got me into the series even though I played the original NES version.

I still need to play Metroid II, Fusion and Hunters and I am looking forward to Metroid Other M.

i love all the metroids so i cant really choose on the single best one but my favourites are fusion super metroid and all the metroid primes :?

I'll just go with the typical,expected choices: Metroid Prime and Super Metroid.

Super Metroid and Prime

Super Metroid (SNES) is my favourite.

But the one that's coming out next looks like it'll be the best one ever. It doesn't look like an fps, it looks more like it's going back to its roots a little.

I change my vote to this. You're right, this is the best Metroid game.

Super Metroid for sure. I actually just recently began playing it again.

Super Metroid by far. Metroid Prime was good too but it fails in comparison to Super Metroid. Even Metroid 2 Return of Samus is better than Metroid Prime, Honestly Metroid 2 is better than Metroid Fusion too. Super Metroid is the top of the peak though. The huge environments, the powerups, the bosses, the music, the secrets and even the customizations were beyond awesome. Super Metroid is the Best Metroid Game in the Series by Far. Followed by Metroid 2, then Metroid Fusion then Metroid Prime.

Super Metroid > Metroid Prime 3 > Metroid Fusion > Metroid Prime >> Metroid : Zero Mission > Metroid Prime 2 >> Metroid

Prime is my pick. I found Super Metroid a little on the boring side. Also Prime was a huge accomplishment sinced it flawlessly moved the series into 3D.

Metroid Fusion. Great story, gameplay, atmosphere, everything. The SA-X chases were so intense!

I didn't find Super Metroid all that great.

I don't like MP2 because it's like... the hardest game I've ever played. Or I just didn't play enough to get used to the dark world or whatever that was called.

Maybe I should try the remake for the GBA (that's Zero Mission right?). I haven't played any of the other Metroids, but that will change soon. I'm going to get the Trilogy later this month and I'll probably play Super Metroid on the VC.

i agree with this

actually i really love metroid prime hunters as well. the perfect example of how FPS games should be done on a handheld console.

The Prime trilogy was so boring. :/

I enjoyed all of the 2D Metroid games, but Fusion was my favorite.

Super Metroid, but Other M has a shot. The Primes are great as well, though.

Wow it's refreshing to hear you can play SUper Metroid all these years later and still have it be your favorite. Good job!

My favorite is Metroid Prime, which is also my ALL-TME favorite game!

I like Super Metroid because it's very fast paced (I like running really fast and destroying enemies with the Screw Attack). I also like the bright 16-bit colors (like Samus's yellow and purple suits).

I've played only Hunters, Metroid and Super Metroid, cause i'm waiting on the trilogy to play the prime games.

My favourite one of those 3 so far was super metroid, but the original was just about the funnest NES game that i've even played.
