The funny thing is that Sakurai wants to improve Brawl over Melee with better graphics, physics and adding online, while the Wii isn't the right console for such improvements. Not using the Wiimote is a missed oportunity. I'm all for motion (coherently added) in Brawl.

Kenshi_is_god

Actually it is the right platform for such improvements. You'd be surprised.

That's probably why Ubi decided to make Prince of Persia 4 for PS3/360, leaving us with "zomg wiimote controlz immerse u in teh game lik nevar b4!!!" Rival Swords.

What does that have to do with anything? It's a companies choice. Obviously the Wii isn't the godhouse that is some peoples beloved PS3, and it's not the 360, but why do you continue to tell yourself it can't produce great visuals? Cause if you believe that, that's sad, it can, no one has realized the potential yet.

I'm perfectly aware of the Wii potential. But graphics as good as SMG (Best looking Wii game) isn't what will make SSBB.

Im sorry I guess you're tlaking about something else then because I thought you said "Sakurai wants to improve Brawl over Melee with better graphics, physics and adding online". Those are all accomplishable on the Wii(and super mario galaxy isn't it's showcase, its more capable then even that).

What if they made the game with, OMG you have to read this, an option to choose the Wii-mote or the NGC controller?! That would be like totally illogical though, so it will never happen [/sarcasm].

Seriously though, I think the developers of Brawl are smarter than most of us give them credit for. I'm sure we'll have the option to switch controller forbidden>

That simply won't impress, not with game like Gears of War around, and soon Bioshock and Mass Effect. Or will you say the SSBB videos are breathtaking?

Anyway, I'm sick of ponctual discussions like that, about a very single aspect of the game. It gets nowhere. I've already posted my overall opinion in this and many other threads, in very detailed posts. I'll just say that the way SSBB is shaping up, it could have been a great GC title.

not really...ive found that you can do most wii games sitting down..Zelda...Sports (some)...but ive already included my opinion in my other posts as well so i wont again, but NIntendo could be a lot better then GC controller. Maybe the VC controller. Anything really but the GC controller and lower. I mean im going toget the game i think, but i dont know. Nintendo can make this a big popular game and could make a lot of money off of it. Id rather wait till next year for this game just so Nintendo can work on it more then for it to be released this year...

I like the idea of it being used with the GC controller. Everyone who has played SSBM will feel right at home playing Brawl. But people who don't have a GC controller will have to get one and that's just for themselves, unless there is online multiplayer (which I have heard there will be).

If SSBB was set out like Tenkaichi 2, with a generic fighting system, and cheap tactics then I'd be fully supporting the wiimote 1105. Ok, that's a bit mean, but if Brawl was set out like Gotcha Force or something like that, I'd get all giddy at the potential the wiimote has with that sort of setting and functionality.

But Brawl is not like that. It's like Melee.

The whole PURPOSE of the wiimote was *quoted from Reggie* making games "feel entierly new, all over again!" Well said Reggie. The whole INTEREST of the wiimote is the motion sensing. And yet, how can games feel great, or even feel like they've been 're-invented' if little motion-sensing is used (dare I say 'gimmicky') or if all you use is buttons on a different shaped controller. WOW WHAT A LEAP FOR THE FRANCHISE! But what's this? Oh look, angry fanboys yelling :"What's the point!!??" if this all-new control scheme serves so little of its potential. Sure, include the compatability of it for those stubborn dudes, but Brawl is eing built around the CLASSIC AND GAMECUBE control scheme, and by the looks of the gameplay vids, it should stay that way.

Why should Nintendo shoehorn motion-controls if it's a game not catering for new audiences nor trying to deliver a huge leap over Melee. Think of it as the leap of God of War 2 to God of War 1 - GoW2 did little to change the formula, and yet eclipsed almost everything the original devliered. Brawl will follow suit.

That's the very problem. New gen, same content.

As for God of War, both games are on PS2, the sequel adds some new ideas and polished previous content, and that's fair enough for a game in the same gen. Now, would God of War II be a great PS3 title? Brawl would have been a great GC title. But on Wii, it's weak, and milkage at its finest.
