There is lots of fan art that looks as good or even better than his picture. But it certainly doesn't look good enough to be a Retro Studios concept art. No sources given other than ,,got it from a friend" either...

I mean, believe it if you want, but also be prepared to get disappointed.

I have still not looked at the pic. And last night I was thinking about it, and I thought to myself, King K. Rool? Nah, that's too obvious, so I concluded that it's Jumpman returning as the villian. Lol. Then I concluded that I'm crazy and I should just look at the pic.

1st off:

Keep up on Red Light Studios!!

Red Light Studios will be my own personal studio after I finish school. I'm an artist currently attending school and eventually hope to obtain a position with a gaming company for anything art related. In my blog, I will update with school projects, and just non-published work I do for fun. Follow along and watch Red Light Studios unfold, and eventually (hopefully) turn into a "known" gaming company. It'll take some time to do so obviously, but I hope you all follow. It would be awesome to have people there that were there from the start with me. You never know, I could even make you a character some day.

I also do freelance art work on the side, so if you or anyone you might know, don't hesitate to send me a pm and we'll work something out. It doesn't matter what you would like, I can pretty much do anything. Paintings, drawings, photoshop work, etc.

Watch for updates over the next few weeks with photos of some projects!

which means you don't currently work for anybody, or atleast Red Light Studios is not a real Co. at this point in time. also most people say it looks unprofessional and poor quality too. Retro has better talent in their art department.

I am quite Tired of if he's in or not. its getting annoying. Retro says he's not in, then people's topics get modded for spoilers when they talk about K.rool being the final boss, which gives us hope. then you post this and give us more hope, then we find out it is fake. :evil:

You know how much I've been looking forward to this game, I'm a huge Donkey Kong Country fan. This is something we probly would've found out towards the end of the game, and as much I wanted him to be in it I didn't really want to know until I found out for myself. You pretty much just ruined the entire game for me...

Except for the fact that this wasn't the original thread title he used. It said BREAKING NEWS!!!!! King. K. Rool is in DKCR or something like that. He only changed the topic title and edited his post after myself and a few others already posted. He ruined the game before I even clicked on the thread, he should've had better judgement and more common sense. And I had no idea he had posted a pic either, I thought in his post he would've posted a link or something. It would've been completely different if I didn't see a pic of the final boss in the game as soon as I click on the thread...

Either way, whether its a lie or a really, really stupid indiscretion, I will remember the name of this person's "studio" and be sure to NOT give it any business. I don't deal with people who conduct themselves in this way.

If this was just a ploy to advertise, this was the worst way to get his name known. Bad word of mouth is stronger than any GOOD advertising.

I work in the game industry (at leastI'm starting to)so I can't mention where I received the concept art from besides it was from a friend internally. I've met many a people from shows and just applying places, not to mention colleagues from just going to school.

I however emailed IGN with the news so if they decide to post this as fake or legit... that's up to them. I have no idea how to inform Gamespot of news because there is no option to (unless I'm just not seeing it). If someone knows how to submit news, please inform me and I'd be glad to submit it to GS asap.

I'm actually quite surprised at how the game wasn't sold out in my particular store. I've been watching it in the back room for at least a week, and I figured it would be off the shelves like hot cakes. Strangely, we had many copies left over which was very suprising to me.

Do you think the series has lost its magic or something? I've played played one Halo game in my day so I have no idea whats all the rage. I'm not bashing the game at all because it actually looks pretty awesome (if I owned a box). Again, I was just surprised.

well kids, I must say that this was quite entertaining to say the least.

Indeed, it was a joke. I apologize to all that couldn't tell in the first place, and give credit to those who pointed out the flaws in the first. The drawing was something that I whipped up quickly to get the boards discussing and hyped up for the game.The game deserved to be excited about whether or not K Rool was in it or not imo. I mean... its a Retro game... we knew it was going to be good, so why not?

The boards seemed dull, so I figured why not have a little fun. For those of you who were completely outraged by it being a fake (or however you handled it), you should relax a little and understand the industry is full of surprises, leaks, peaks, etc. Don't listen to everything you read or see on the internet because your bound to become "over-hyped" about it at least sometimes. Especially from a random art student that visits a gaming forum.

Either way, it was a joke and if you did take it to heart... sorry to burst your bubble. If you did believe it, it made you happy for that quick moment up until you had your hands on the actual game, and you should be satisfied with the product now and I hope you enjoy it over the holidays.

Great job on the game Retro and keep the games coming!

And just to let those who mentioned it, this wasn't an attempt to "get my name out there" lol. I think if I was completely trying as hard as I could, I would've spent as much time as I possibly could have on the piece for it to actually be noticed by someone important. Even I know it doesn't look professional enough to be taken seriously, so again no.... I wasn't trying to get my name out there lol. I have a resume, email, and phone for that... you know, the good old fashioned way.
