I used to have a Ds lite, but I sold it to my friend a while back. Now, I'm planning on getting a new one soon to play Pokemon Platinum.

I just recently read about the new Dsi, and it looks fine. Bigger screens, thinner, two cameras, improved audio, SD card slot, and downloads. The price tag is somewhere around $180, and there isn't a set released date in the u.s.

Overall, I could live without the new features, and they don't seem all that great if you have a cell phone. Also, the gba slot is being removed. The Ds lite is just too solid of a handheld to be replaced by the Dsi.

So what do you think I should do: Buy a Ds lite now, or wait several months for a Dsi?

It all boils down to GBA games. If you want to continue playing your GBA games on a DS, get a lite, if not, wait for the DSi

Its ironic the fact of a person choosing DS lite over DSi because of the capability to play GBA games. Its a nice add-on... but come on, stop living in the past, XP. Besides its probably that nynty would think of something to give those games to gba cartridge owners via DS ware-shop-whatever.

id go for the dsi. if you really wanna play gba games, buy a gba. its that simple. plus dsi will be current and youll be able to get all the new features beyond just the cameras and new screen size. theres alot of new stuff the mojority of the people on here ignore. and plus. if you buy a gba, you wont miss the gba slot. it works out reat. besides, a used gba cant be very expensive if you look around a bit

I agree, but if he couldn't care less about the new features, get the DS Lite. The games are all the same, after all.

The dsi is just a ds with more features, minus a gba slot. It's not like it's a completely new system.

I say wait for the DSi. The cameras have endless gameplay possibilities and the DSi shop has great potential as well.

just buy the DS. It's less expensive and you have to wait a long time for the DSi

I decided I might get one (even though I have 2 DS Lites). I was like "Ew, no GBA slot." But then I realized, I haven't played a GBA game since DS came out...lol.

Well, yea, basically you need to decide whether you want to be able to play your gba games too. I have a game that requires both the ds slot and the gba slot, so I'm sticking with my ds...but it's ur choice, dude.
