You can play any GBA on your DS. The way trading works is you import your GBA pokemon into your DS game, so they'll be lost from your GBA game forever, and available for you on your DS game.
So i can take Rayquazza, for example, pass to the DS and then to Fire Red? And for that i need any cable?Turibe
No cable needed. You just need to have FireRed in your GBA slot and your Pearl or Diamond game in your DS slot. You also need to earn the National Pokedex first. To do that, see all the Pokemon in the DS game (no need to capture them all necessarily). Once that's done, you can go to Pal Park and import your Rayquaza.
Its possible to trade pokemon from fire red or emerald to Diamond/Pearl its just you wouldnt be able to trade Pokemon from Pearl/Diamond to Fire Red or emerald
