Can Nintendo win another e3?

Ok so it's only opinion based. But Nintendos e3 showing last year was considered by many fans and critics to be the best of the big three. We saw the first showings of zelda, star fox, splatoon, Mario maker, captain toad, kirby and the rainbow curse, and the reimagined yoshis wooly world.

With more conferences than ever this year (including pc gaming), Microsoft promising a 1st party focused lineup and Sony with surely some secrets to reveal, does Nintendo have enough quality games to show this year?

i don't know if they can top last year. Aside from metroid or a new 3d mario I'm struggling to think of anything that can really get people exited. And I can't see them revealing new title after new title like they did last year. What do you think?

In terms of the format, since they are doing what they did last year, theirs will be the best. But in terms of the actual content, I can't help but feel that they don't want to waste any big franchises on the Wii U, and save them all for the NX. So no.

They haven't been relevant in some time, no one even thinks about them anymore at this time of the year.

Maybe things will change when they show off new hardware, as it stands now they've been missing since about 2008.

With new hardware on the way I wouldn't expect much from them until that happens

Yep, yep, yep, all they have to do is beat Halo 5. Nintendo needs to announce them Christmas games and we will go crazy up in this beach. But it will take maybe Mario and Xenoblade to win it. Animal Crossing and Xenoblade could win it. Animal Crossing, New Mario, Starfox, Xenoblade, Mario Maker, Yoshi game, 3DS secret games announced, they dont stand a chance.

It's possible. Nintendo keeps a pretty tight lid on what they're developing behind the scenes There is lots of room for them to surprise. I really enjoyed their presentation last year, so I hope that they can match or surpass that.

I really liked their presentation last year, it was funny.

Not sure what I'm expecting from them. Xenoblade footage is almost a given, and there won't be any Zelda stuff shown so I'm not sure what they'll have up their sleeve. Animal Crossing is a possibility.

Yes, because they showed new stuff in the direct last Monday to make room for E3.

If they show a new Metroid then they'll win in my book but in reality I don't really see much surprises or mindblowing titles coming from them this e3. It may be more footage of titles we already know are coming, no real bombshells this year. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I think it's going to be tough this year, especially with Sony and Xbox. I think all 3 will put on good presentations. I'm a little concerned for Nintendo this go around. With NX coming down the road, mobile games, DLC, and Amiibo, I think they'll focus on some key titles coming out soon. (YOshi, Mario Maker, Star Fox, and xenoblade) As far as new exclusives... i think Nintendo would have to go big to win it. Stuff like:

- Metroid (3rd Person)

- Mario Galaxy 3 or 3D Land 2.

- Nintendo Universe with Amiibo;s

- Animal Crossing

- Zelda (Show something)

- New IP (Open World)

- A major third party exclusive

- RPG's!

Hell... maybe even throw in a Luigi or Diddy Kong game.

Doubt it, I think MS is stacked this year and ninty needs to worry about NX.

Frankly I hope Zelda comes to NX.

Starfox....it's been 9 long years....Starfox wins E3.

Nintendo is under rated, but with the power of the PS4 and Xbox one lineups (and hardware) it will be hard for Nintendo to compete. But will have Splatoon soon, and looking forward to Xenoblade. I think that Nintendo will have to wait until the next system in order to make headlines :(

A new Mario, Starfox, Xenoblade release date, Mario Maker, Yoshi game, Metroid (2D or 3D) and 3DS secret games announced would be enough to win E3.

@GameboyTroy: Im sure they will have it on the show floor and gamespot could do a demo or something, but for the conference I think I have heard a lot about mario maker already and would be more interested in the new titles they have been saving

@GameboyTroy: weird they didnt mention that in the gametrailer one you posted, the two seem very different, im not sure if they would do two metroids for the wii u at the same time (3ds and wii u would seem more likely if they are making 2)... hoping at least the gametrailer one is true... (I think the jpg one is fake cause the captain toad amiibo, unless they are adding new support I dont see them bothering with a amiibo of captain toad)

@lord_magikarp: Its the last post of the page. There's leak 1 and leak 2 is below leak 1. In leak 1 MP4 is mentioned and in leak 2 M:PS is mentioned in the image. That's 2 Metroid games mentioned in the 2 leaks.

@GameboyTroy: I dunno i feel like they arent going to make 2 metroid games and the details between the two get mixed (star fox secure vs star fox supercharged) while one knows the title for a game and the other doesnt (animal crossing and paper mario). Just feels like one has to be fake at least...

Nintendo Wants to Continue to "Surprise" Fans Says President Reggie Fils-Aime

Not to play devil's advocate here (but I admit that I'm probably doing it anyway), but I never really understood the whole idea of "winning" E3 as the concept is now. Let's just use last year's reception for Nintendo as an example: has it really helped Nintendo or its fans moving forward that their last showing was received so well? The buzz generated from E3 is usually gone before the games themselves are released, especially if they are around the holiday season, where Nintendo has only been struggling to make its current console even relevant at retail during what is the busiest time of the season for shopping. Why is "winning" E3 such a big deal when it really doesn't amount to much at all?

If anything, Nintendo "winning" E3 would actually be them losing the battle in terms of initial reception at the show but somehow managing to release a head-turning idea that garners attention from other sources. I don't find it much of a shock that Nintendo's "lesser" E3 showcases have turned out to be some of their more successful products the past decade or so, and vice versa. That's just the position Nintendo is in with today's video game industry and that's something it should actually embrace. On the other hand, in terms of the actual topic, I suppose a fancy Metroid showing would suffice; good luck seeing that game reach 500K when all is said and done, however...

@Madmangamer364: I think you're taking things abit too seriously. Its just abit of fun trying to guess what's going to happen at e3 and discussing who had the best showing when its all done. We all know that "winning e3" isn't an actual thing.

Without Zelda, it would be nearly impossible for Nintendo to compete with the likes of Microsoft hitting hard this year with Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5, and Forza Motorsport 6. All big games, all huge budgets, all known franchises.

What I DO hope is that Starfox U turns out to have gotten a budget increase and ends up being a bigger, more epic game than we all think it is, though I'm somewhat doubtful on that. I'm also concerned that all of Nintendo's "big" announcements will be 3DS games, and I'm not knocking the 3DS by saying this, but if the Wii U doesn't see the love at E3, there's no way it's going to win this year :P

I think they have a shot to do it again. Super Mario Maker looked awesome. Star Fox should look great. Yoshi looks real good. Throw in 1-2 big surprises and i think they've done it again. Big surprises like Metroid , and a new traditional Mario game like Galaxy 3 or 3D world 2.

Nintendo is going to need a doozy to steal the show. Nothing is lacking this year from the other conferences.

Nope. That was the worst conference of E3. No doubt.

No...last year was better..this one was waay flat.. at least got a release date for Xenoblade X Wii U ...showed Starfox & FExSMT but no Fatal Frame 5 release dates or Devil's Third. :P
