Don't get me wrong I'm a big 360 gamer but I also have a WII.
If the WII is pushed to it's limits could it compete with the PS3/Xbox 360 graphically (We all know that the WII sold more then both)

No.
It's not a high definition console but it does it's job for standard definition and works better when developers go with distinctive visuals (Star Wars Clone Wars, Zack and Wiki) rather then realistic.

Totally agree, although Clone Wars isn't a must have for me I love the art style and it looks better than if they'd gone for a realistic look. Same with SMG really, by having it so simple and cartoon-like they're able to produce the amazing graphics.

Yeah, I found that funny too. It has de sales so it must have de grafix, mirite?
I said that to stop any fanboyism saying stuff about sales.Englandfc1966
Why did you expect us to say that? This isn't SW.
Even a non-gamer knows that the Wii wont surpass the Xbox or Ps3 graphically. They picked it up in papers and magazines. And I think the Wii is still a console for people who are new to gaming or to people who are Nintendo fans and only buy the Wii to play the newest game of the Mario franchise.I_Object
You'll be shocked to know most informed Wii owners are looking forward many 3rd party games.

Let me remind you that your own post could be qualified as flamebait. In any case, you already have your answer.

Agreed, But Wii owners arent waiting for some sort ofAssassinsCreed Spin offf for the Wii. like a loop-de-loop-design-your-own-moves game, In which ubisoft of course will fail, Just like the DS spin off.
But of course the Wii Point option is great, Buying all those classics.

If you thought the 3rd party games I mentioned are VC games, you, sir, are wrong.

The Wii Point option was only an example of the thing I do like about the gamingexperiencethe Wii has to offer. I just mean that the Wii console is still a giant spin off console. Most of the games get 2 to 3 expansions. Or none. Although I am not a big fan of the Wii. It still amuses me how big it made the market in some sort. Seniors playing the Wii. 5 years old learning new things on the Wii, Housewives learning to cook on the Wii. There are a lot ofopportunitieson the Wii, And I think the Wii has its good side and its bad side.
Well not really when pushed to its limit it can show that it is a real 7th gen console in terms of power too like SMG running at 60fps constatntly with those graphics show that wii isnt just some revamped gamecube it has more power then what you believe overall a comparison from my opinion
PS3 100%
Xbox 360 90%
Wii 60%
That is what to me the differnce seems to be.

I know where you're coming from, but a Wii owner right now has more reasons to love its Wii than hate it. That is, unless:
1) He/she thinks the Wii is the PS3/360 but made by Nintendo.
2) He/she thinks the whole Wii library is what was shown at E3 08.
But with games like Fragile, MadWorld, Little King Story, deBlob, Tales of Symphonia 2 just to name a few strong 3rd party efforts, we can't say the Wii is a spin off console.

who needs all that high def junk when you have imagination to build on an image.
Can be done on PS3/360 too... :?

Yeah, but since the Wii isn't a tech-horse, developers must make High Quality artistic games. Just look at Super Mario Galaxy. It has the most beautiful graphics of 2007.

Um... we post on these boards regulary. How are we the trolls? :?Of course the 360/ps3 are more powerful. But when it comes to graphics, I dislike the photorealistic hi-def games. I don't want to explore a game world that looks like a photocopy of a real city. I prefer art direction to realism in games. Heck, look at the graphics used in Madworld. They didn't need the sheer power of the ps3/360 to pull off some of the most unique graphics I've seen in a while. I'm just waiting until art direction can meet up with horsepower to create something truly amazing.

It's not like HD or photorealism can only be used to picture things from real life.

I think games like Little Big Planet and the new Banjo Kazooie show that the Xbox 360 and PS3 can make artistic games that look way better than anything on the Wii. The power of the PS3 and 360 can be used in other ways besides photorealism.
No.

Have to agree here. The major difference is between HD/SD and unfortunately the Wii is only SD. Throw artistic design (realistic, cel-shaded, art deco, 2d/3d, or black & white) into the mix and then technical specs don't mean a thing.
not a chance. the PS3 and the Wii have been out for the same amount of time, about two years, so developers should just now start to unlock the true potential of each system, right? the best looking game on the Wii is Super Mario Galaxy, which (while amazing for the Wii) still looks like a last gen Xbox game. the best looking game i have on my PS3, MGS4, is comparable to a CG movie. the way i see it, the Wii can produce graphics maybe 1/2 as good as the PS3 and slightly more (3/5?) than that for the 360.
i actually dont care. i have the wii, original xbox and psp. and i dont mind wii games with graphics like the original xbox. as long as gameplay is great!
and yes 3rd party games are a must and off the top of my head we got these 3rd games coming:
conduit
madden
gh world tour
rock band
call of duty world at war
skate it
uhh...plus any other good 3rd party games we already have for the wii
