Hi . I'm new to this board but I consider buying the Wii very throughly although not only for the intuitive controlls or the fun of some games but in order to loose more weight. I'm not terribly obese or anything I just gotta loose some baby fat and I heard games like Wii sports can do that . Can anyone confirm this for me and thanks ! :)

Not as much as people think...maybe a tad, but nothing big. Maybe the DDR game for Wii would make you lose weight :p

If you want to lose some weight, do some aerobic excersise.  Go for a walk or run, or a cycle.  The Wii may get you swinging your arms a little, but it won't help you lose any more weight than even the Meta Ridley boss fight in Metroid Prime.

It appears that I play Wii Sports a little too hard. I'm sweating after 15 minutes

I have to have a fan and a bottle of water next to me before I turn it on.

boxing in wii sports deffinitly can make me break a sweat.  Not every wii game is that active though, the only other one i can think of would be wario ware, that's really active.

Boxing, and sometimes tennis. Tennis can easily be played by lying down and just flicking your wrist left to right, but sometimes I get really into it and start bouncing off the walls in excitement.

That's called overenthusiasm or ADD.  I've never seen Serena of Venus "bouncing off the walls"

It will help you burn some calories sure, but you won't really loose weight without a proper diet to go alongside it.

I don't know if it can help you loose weight but people have mentioned it helps you lose weight.
