No, i dont me the outside of it, because the inside of my top screen is cracked and i dont want to have to send it to Nintendo, because that'll take forever. Also can you buy the screen replacement and install it manually?

Yea, I think it's highly unlikely that you'll be able to do it yourself. It'd probably be better just to send it in to Nintendo.

Doesn't Nintendo just send you a new one after getting the one you sent in?

I don't think you can fix the screen yourself. Because my brothers kid broke her ds lite screen and the part would not go back into the whole. I would just send it to nintendo and ask them to send you a new one.

Actually, yes you can replace them (I've done it). There are numerous retailers that carry replacement top and bottom screens (PM me if you need some links). It's not exactly super easy because you are dealing with small and delicate electronic pieces, so if you've never done something like it before I'd read some guides/watch some YouTube videos on the subject to see if it's in your level of technical skill. Note, you will also need to purchase a triwing screwdriver in order to get inside to the guts of the DS.

Nintendo will only send you a new one if its under warranty right? Because I dropped mine and now there are like lines that flicker across the touch screen, and my warranty has been up. Can I send it to them and get a discount on a new one?

Idk, but you could keep closing it and openning it to get a crack on the hinge. Then they would replace it for free. LOL :D
