I guess its pretty possible, i heard that it plays mp3 and take pictures, but i never heard that it plays movies, but who knows? even if it doesnt, since its SD card thing, someone would probably make some third-party add-on/mod to make it possible.

Answering your question i think yes, is possible to watch movies on the DSi but you would need a SD card that can hand the size of the movie in terms of MBs but as that DSi can support SD cards up to 32GB you are not gonna have problems in that. Your only problem would be money since (i think) those cards are pretty expensive.
Dude, don't even waste your time with a DSI, get this instead: SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB MP3 Player (Black) Its perfect, mp3s, movies, pics and a whole lot cheaper. You already have a DS so so what if this doesnt play games.

I know its illegal, but i'm not encouraging it, i'm just saying that EVEN IF THE DSi DON'T READ MOVIES, its possible that some third-party development develop a way to do it, i'm not saying that i will develop or the people SHOULD develop, i'm just saying that its POSSIBLE. And who knows? even Nintendo itself can make it official, if they see a point on it.
The sd cards are not that much money i got a 1g for less than $6 at walgreens and also i heard nintendo was coming out with a movies on demand sort of thing. Im not sure if you can make movies or if u can download and watch them.
