Who's Aeon and that girl Shanoa? I don't remember them being in a Castlevania gameKenny789
Shanoa is from the upcomming Castlevania for the DS, Order of Ecclesia and I have no clue where Aeon OR Eric are from.
EDIT: Just found out Eric is from bloodlines.... although he looks NOTHING like he did in bloodlines...
Konami announced a new console Castlevania is in the works. Unfortunately it won't be coming to the Wii :( I sure hope Judgement delivers since it looks like it's the only thing the Wii is gonna get.Mike1978Smith
True, but if its a 3D game then I wouldn't jump for joy either for the PS360 version given the less then stellar history of 3D Castlevania adventures.

Well, you shouldn't know who Aeon is. I took a look on wikipedia and they said, "Other playable characters include recurring enemies and bosses of the Castlevania franchise, and a new exclusive character named Aeon." I don't care if he wasn't in another Castlevania, he looks awesome!I like the graphics, they've captured the Castlevania feel for sure. Also it's a good thing that only 14 characters were slapped in rather than the hefty 30+ characters Brawl used, it's better not to have clones.
On a side note, I'm really really happy Shonoa was added...is that a bow! OMGosh! :o
Getting it for christmas. Though I'm still wondering, does it have online like they initially told? I don't see any reassurance.

If nothing else, the game will have some bad@$$ music. 8)TwilightSoilder
Its Castlevania that shouldn't be a surprise.
Are you kidding me? This game is shaping up to be a mediocre stinker.
IGN couldn't find anything really encouraging to say. Gamespot reached to mention that things looked smoother now.
Ever notice how the gaming press plays just about every game that comes out? Ever notice how they freely gush over software that excites them?
Ever notice that Castlevania Judgement hasn't gotten much coverage? It's not on the "most anticipated" lists. The news update process has been mostly in lockstep with gaming events. It's almost as if the press is going through the motions covering this game.
I haven't seen any fantastic software from big software houses sneak into the market in years. The press coverage is too good these days for it. The press is getting plenty of opportunity to see this title; Konami hasn't been hiding it away.
The real problem is that nobody is impressed.
I don't see this game falling in with the casual crowd. That just leaves the hardcore crowd.... When the gaming press isn't excited about a game that should appeal to hardcores, there's a problem.
What are you talking about? Just cause the press isn't all over a game doesen't mean people won't like it. Besides what game does the press jump all over? ToS dawn of a new world isn't in the press. And they are even having all kinds of trailers and interviews about this game. Are you kidding me? This game is shaping up to be a mediocre stinker.

Wheres Soma Cruz? that guy became the hero of 2 Castlevania game for crying out loud
And im guessing that Aeon, will be Konami's explanation as to why the characters are able to fight each other(possibly through time traveling, since Aeon has a huge clock as a weapon)
Looks crazy.
A bit disappointed by Death, but the rest looks pretty intense. We'll just have to wait and see, though.

*ORLY owl swoops down to peck out your eyes*
IGN put the game on their Top 20 Potential Blockbusters of 2008 in September.
The fanboy legions of Nintendo consoles are a force to be reckoned with, and it seems like most all of them have already written off this Castlevania fighter -- specifically because it's a fighter. The shared sentiment seems to be that it's great that Castlevania is making its debut on Wii, but in the form of a fighting game it's undesirable. While we can't offer a compelling counterargument to the contrary, it is safe to say that's it far too early to judge Judgment -- the completed title may well surprise several of the naysayers.IGN
Maybe you should listen to IGN. ;)
The game comes out in a month.
One month.
That means the discs still need to be pressed, wrapped, and shipped....
In (let me remind you AGAIN) one month.
So, you are suggesting that a piece of software from a major software house--with a mainstream franchise name attached--is going to have an amazing jump in the last few days of development; and catch the masses off guard?
Seriously?
Konami is bringing a mediocre product to skeptical fans here. They needed a home run.
IGN was polite to suggest that the team could pull together a miracle in the last few days of development. And, Gamespot was polite to find something nice to say about smoother animations.
The press has no problem with showing enthusiasm for games that deserve it. A month before release, Gamespot shouldn't be reaching to find something nice to say.
This game looks awesome.I'm pretty sure you won't need to be too familiar with Castlevania's past to enjoy the game.
I have a question: I haven't played any of the Castlevania games before, so do you think if I get this game I'll be able to pick up the story line? Or wont I enjoy it to it's full extent.

I have been told the game will have online, although I have no proof to back it up.The game looks interseting ill keep my eye on it. Does it have Wi-Fi?

And politely put it on their Top 20 list. Gosh golly, IGN is chock full of such good-mannered little lads to not make any game feel left out. Their mommas done raised them right that much be sure!
The press does seem to be rather unenthusiastic, but that could be because they are also Castlevania fans and didn't want the next game to be a fighting game. And you are forgetting one thing; while it's true that they freely gush over software that excites them, they also freely lambast software that doesn't.
For example, one game that Castlevania Judgment is getting compared to by unhappy fans is Soul Calibur Legends. They anticipate that Judgment will be to Castlevania what Legends was to Soul Calibur. But check out the reception that Legends got after a hands-on. I don't think Judgment will get below a 6.0 (Mediocre) like Legends and its average score.
