On a scale of 1-10 what do you think the chances of RE5 coming to the Wii? I would really hope so, I would sacrifice graphics for the same gameplay as RE4.

Look at titles like RE0 and all those ports...
Sure, we might get RE5 on the Wii...in five years. :(

no capcom isn't big on downgrading to port games, maybe if it's still during development cycle and the downgrades are very minimal and they can add more content and stuff for the other versions then yeah. But that wouldn't happen here, it's a huge downgrade, requiring a complete overhall of shaders and textures. The chances are none
why do you guys believe it's "impossible"?
remember, RE5 was in development long before Wii was a success. Further, we all know how capcom is with promises. unless that dude has head really chopped off, i would say they really only run towards money (which is not wrong, but it is what they do)

Teach a monkey french or make a pig that can tap dance because those goals are reachable compared to the chances that game comes to the Wii.

they've taught monkies sign language, and i had a pet pig that i taught to spin in circles and roll over... bad examples...
There is definitely a chance, and I think its better than 1. Look at RE4 Wii edition, it sold way better than anyone thought it would, because it already sold so many on the PS2 and GC everyone figured anyone who wanted to play it have bought it by then, but totally platinum.
And another big reason, have you seen RE4 mobile??? Its a straight up port of the full version of RE4 down to the mobile phone, this will be available in Japan but the thing is, they had to port the graphics down dramatically but the game still looks very good and looks somewhat the same, just the graphics are like 64 graphics now.
And hey, maybe an RE5 for the wii could be one of the big announcements at this year's E3. But bottom line, it definitely won't be impossible and it would not really be all that hard or mind boggling if you ask me, of course it wouldnt look nearly as good, but you better bet the game will still look good and it will definitely still be just as fun. Plus they would be able to make a bigger profit if they do this.

The chances will depend on a couple of factors, like how complex the A.I. is, the number of enemies that could be on screen at any time, use of physics as an integral part of gameplay, whether or not there'll be destructible environments, and how large the environments will be, among other things.
All we've got to go by are the trailers...And I can't recall many trailers that are able to represent the whole of their game well.
Given that Resident Evil 4 worked quite well with the Wiimote (so well that it made Professional mode for the Wii edition a joke compared to other versions) and that so far, nothing seems to be too much to handle from a gameplay perspective, I'd say it stands a decent chance: 70/30 in favour of Resident Evil 5 Wii Edition.
3-4 nearly impossible.Foiyo
Well... it's not nearly impossible... it could be possible. Maybe we could get RE6 exclusive to the WII in 2012?
I agree, the gameply of RE4 wii edition is imo great....anything is possible. Im hoping..

it is not impossible to see resident evil 5 on wii.we have already seen a lot of resident evil games coming to wii and they all have sold extremely well.we have seen remakes so far but we have also seen umbrella cronicles so it can surely happen.you must also remember that back when resident evil 4 was coming to gamecube capcom said that it will never come to another console but we saw it on ps2 and on pc.nothing is impossible and that is why life is interesting...heroofwinds1
I don't really remember Capcom saying "RE5 definitly won't be on the Wii!" but it'd have to be completely different game considering how far behind the the Wii is, tech-wise.
lol its not impossible, its just not feasible for the dev, not when they are trying to promote todays next-gen tech.
personally, i dont think we'll get RE5 itself on Wii, but i bet theres a good chance they might make a variation of it for Wii, like some kind of spin-off expansion thing. will probably suck, but u never know.
0 chances.
It's not a graphical question, the game has huge locations, much more detailed enemies coming at you and much more enemies, all that with a very smart (= complicated AI), atleast it's what they say, but you never know, and on top of that it's played outside in full sun in Africa with shadows playing a major role, and believe me shadows and stuff like that eats a lot of RAM. There's no chance the Wii can process this. It won't happen. Even, the PS3 is going to suffer with this one.
But for survival/horror fans we're still getting Alone in the Dark and it looks promising.
