I think the unlockable demos for VC games included in SSBB are another nice piece of lame Nintendo marketing, here's why:
They're supposed to encourage us to buy the game they demonstrate, but they obtain the opposite result, due to the absurd time limit:
You can try Donkey Kong for 30 seconds, Zelda for 1 and 1/2 minute, F-Zero for 40 seconds, Starfox 64/Lylat Wars for two minutes and so on... How am I supposed to understand what I'm doing with so little time? Let alone decide if I like the game and I want to spend $5 and up for it? Here's an alternative way to make these demos:
Donkey Kong: full first stage available for play
F-Zero: a single full lap on the Mute City circuit
Starfox 64: full Corneria level+boss
Super Mario Bros: full first level
Super Metroid: 5 minutes time limit
Zelda: 10 minutes time limit, free roaming but locked dungeons and caves
and so on... at the end of each demo put an ad telling us to connect to Wii shop channel to get the full limitless version. Not too hard.
Maybe I'm nitpicking, but I think Nintendo should know better than this, and if they don't they should learn from PC demos, which always give at least on full level to play.
Thoughts?
