I picked up Component Cables for my Wii, but for some reason when I have them in, I still get a 4:3 aspect ratio...

I have the settings on Widescreen 16:9 and 480p, but it still comes out 4:3, any ideas?

and yes, it's hooked up to an HDTV... 720p 37" Sony Bravia.

Thanks.

The ones that don't are not that many, though. The ones I know that don't support widescreen are:

- WarioWare. However, given the type of game, it's not a big issue.

- Guilty Gear: Accent Core Plus.

- Dragon Ball Tenkaichi 3 (Tenkaichi 2 probably doesn't either).

- The infamous REmake of the REmake.

- The Prince of Persia port.

- The stupid Rygar port.

- Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

- VC games, as well as a few retro Wiiware games, like Mega Man 9 and Contra: Rebirth.

When it comes to Gamecube games, all the ones I've tried are 4:3 only, except Soul Calibur II.

If you are playing a game that you know for a fact supports widescreen, like Mario Galaxy, Brawl or Twilight Princess, check your TV settings.

this happens to me too. I have to set my tv to 16:9 "almost" every time even though my wii is set for Widescreen. I never had to do this for 360 after setting the console settings.
