Is there a chance that Colonial Marines for Wii could still be a good game? The fact that Gearbox dropped a six year old turd of a game is puzzling, and it seems that either Gearbox spent a great deal of time trying to pull the wool over Segas and consumers eyes, or there is still a version that resembles the one that has been promoted for the past year.
What ever happened, Gearbox seams to have some splainin to do. Â Rumors are that Sega is considering a law suit against Gearbox for not fulfilling its contractual obligation to produce a quality Aliens game and instead using the money to develop Borderlands 2. Â
While bullshots are more common than we want them to be, the talk of dynamic lighting and atmospheric set piece sections that Gearbox has been promoting along with actual game footage trailers takes this to a whole new level.

I see two likely scenarios:
Scenario one: Gearbox was too focused on Borderlands 2 and gave Aliens to outside developers hoping to get a reasonable product to give to Sega. They created misleading videos to keep Sega off their backs and hoped they could pull it out at the end. By the time Gearbox got back to Colonial Marines, it was too late to pull a rabbit out of the hat. If this is the case, the Wii U version is probably just as rumored: a poor port with frame rate issues and poorly constructed gamepad centered mini games.
Scenario two: Demiurge (the studio that has been in charge of the Wii U version from the ground up) and Gearbox worked together throughout pre-production to get a storyboard and Demiurge has been consistently producing the version we have seen all along. While Time Gate (the studio charged with developing the PS3/360/PC version) botched its production, Gearbox was proudly displaying and promoting what Demiurge was working on. If this is true, we may still se a decent Aliens game by the end of March.
Thoughts? Â Could the Wii U actually get the game Gearbox and Sega have been promoting? Are the gameplay trailers actually from the Wii U version?
