De Blob -- The Best Game To Hit The Wii in 2008 Thus Far.

Bad news.

I went to my local Wal-Mart to pick up a points card, (for Bomberman) and I didn't even see De Blob on the shelves.

So I asked an employee in electronics if they were sold out, and he said he's never heard of the game.

I wonder how much this game is shipping out, because it looks like I'll have to go to my local Gamestop just to get it.

Oh, and filling up the Wii shelves were copies of the "Price is Right" and "Mario Sluggers". :roll:

best game to hit on wii this year? well, i dont feel the need to couter that argument because its so easy.

i do like the game though. it has a unique visual style and gameplay. and i really do live the music, especially how adding different colors add differeent tunes to the music.

but there are some things that i dont like about the game. it takes quite a while for it to get any good. the first stage it a fair introductory, then the next two or three stages tend to get a bit repeteive and frustrating. it just recycles COLOR THESE BUILDINGS ING THIS COLOR, or GET FROM POINT A TO B IN X ANOUNT OF TIME and FILL UP THIS PROPAGANDA TOWER WITH X ANOUNT OF POINTS. its a real pain in the @ss. another gripe i have about the game is the use of a map, especially with a game featuring levels at this size. the compass is practically useless. i just go by what my eye can see.

i do give credit also to once the game starts to introduce new enemies and odsticles.

best game? no. great addition? yes.

As for the game being repetative, yeah, the missions are the same at the beginning but it gets better. Its not even that big of an issue.

I'm still going to say its the best game on the Wii so far -- beating Brawl, Mario Kart, No More Heroes, Boom Blox, Blast Works, etc.

Whats so LOL? It's a better effort than any other title out there on the Wii and it proves it :|.

I've had an amazing time with De Blob for the couple days I've had it.

This is easily one of the best experiences I've ever had with a game.

I completely agree with this thread. It's a fantastic game.

Here's a quick read on Madden NFL sales on the Wii. It details how EA has been able to make a tidy profit on the Wii with Madden games without hitting the big top ten lists.

Wii software sales patterns are more steady than the hit and run (fad) mentality of the PS3 and Xbox 360.

I think deBlob should expect a similar pattern of sales.

In the end, the sales will reflect a cult (or sleeper) title. Like Space Station Silicon Valley on the 64, the presentation and art direction will not instantly grab people. There's a good game there if you are willing to reach for it...

There's actual enemies in latter levels, but it's mostly the same idea.

I'm sorry you don't like it though. For me, it's been one of the best games I've played this generation.

Yeah, S'all about De Blob ladies and gentleman. Its too bad that the game won't sell because it doesnt say Nintendo on the front -- but its the best game to come to the Wii in 2008. It's simple. It's addictive. It's got awesome art direction. It's got a solid multiplayer. It's got lasting appeal.

Heres the big one folks!:

It's got everything a good third party game should have. It's incredibly polished, well thought out with its gameplay and it's a new IP that is suited PERFECTLY for the Wii.

This is a title Nintendo wished they made. This is a title that you should def. support.

At least give it a rental if you are unsure about a purchase.

im sorry i dont understand what anyone likes about this game. I thought bouncing off the walls painting a town and creating a town would be fun but it isnt really. i played the 1st level and was ready to return it. does it get any better after that 1st level or is it more of the same?

im good at knowing what i like quick. If you dont like the 1st level of a game chances are you wont like the rest because games now are very repetivie

no offense alex, but if webbut doesnt like it. then he doesnt like it. i know you enjoy it, and i know ill enjoy it when i get my copy (tomorrow...yaaay). soooo yea, we can still game it up and enjoy the game till the last drop.

i was planing to but i wanted to get some opinnons on if it gets much different or not because after all the hype for the game id hate to dislike it as much as i do

I think it gets better.

I thought the first level was more of a tutorial, so you get used to the controls.
