I want to do do a thread where people share their ideas. I want to hear people's ideas for wii games. We do a lot of complaining about third parties here and I'd like the hear what people think would be the right way to make a game.
Share anything you want! It can be as little are much fleshed out as you want. It could be an orginal idea, or an idea for an already exsisting franchise. Can be wiiware, or on disk. Heck, if all you have is a titile, share it!
I got lot of ideas, do I'll post them periodicly.
First up: Megaman wiiware.
These days, megaman is a joke. He is easily in some of the worst games every year. The only two half decent megaman titles recently were both retro remakes for the PSP. Megaman needs a comeback, the real megaman, not X, not battle network nobody, not megaman ZX dragon plus special whatever…MEGAMAN. Were talking DR. Wily and eight master robots. Were talking pick your stage, beat the master robot, steal his weapon, and move on. Were talking two button gameplay.
I'd make a 2D sidescroller megaman. I'd design eight master robots that didn't sound goofy like toad man or dive man. Next, I would create a map with twelve stages and just like in megaman you can choose to tackle them in anyorder. eight of the twelve stages have master robots, the others are empty. You can see which stages have robots, but you can't see which robots they are. (maybe there could be a hidden item that lets you see them) If you beat a robot or leave the stage, or loose all your lives, then all the robots move to new random stages.
Stages are altered by the robot at them. Like for example, in megaman X, there was a lava stage, but if you didn't beatt he ice boss, the lava was frozen. Same idea here. If there is a stage in the forest or something, and say windman is there, then the whole stage has winds blowing you back. If say darkman was there, then the lights would go on and off....and so forth.
As for wii controls, the nunchucks control stick moves megaman. A jumps, B shoots. But, to update things a bit, the pointer aims. Megaman shoots in the direction of the on screen curser.
Beat the eight robots, go to wily's castle, and done.
To add some replay value, add in two player co-op. Both players paly at the same time (one plays protoman) and can even double up on a boss. Maybe even allow multiple master robots to go to the same levels, making some cool 2 on 2 fights.
