Dude exactly what about the game is soooooo bad? It has the best online out of any Wii FPS, the best controls, I mean really? In a previous post I talked about my problems with the game and explained them..... it seems like people are getting on the hate band wagon just for the sake of it.umcommon

It wasn't fun.

Absolutely nothing else matters if that is true.

I actually had the exact same thoughts about it. I'm not one to have very high expectations, and I have thoroughly enjoyed tons of games that others turned up their noses at (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Mega Man Star Force, modern Sonic games, and so on), and I still was disappointed and thought the game sucked. It takes effort to get me to think that a game sucks. :P

Controls and a more detailed matchmaking system in online than other games arent enough to stand alone as making a game good.

Dude, were you or anyone really expecting a campaign that would be mind blowing? I wasn't, I was expecting a solid online mode with no major flaws *cough MOH* and good controls, and the game delivered. True the campaign was lacking and the environments.... just read my post on the previous page, but the multiplayer delivered more than any thus far on Wii and was pretty much comparable in experience to any FPS on the 360.

edit: Ok, I will admit that the game would be a gigantic letdown if someone just bought it for single player... but I doubt that was the case for most.

first, can you please stop starting the posts with "dude, "? second, if a game is a major letdown in half of it, and the other half brings a nearly-system-wars-like discussion on whether it's good or bad, is it a good game?

I was expecting a game that would be fun. They didn't give me that. :P

I guess if you just own a Wii the online stuff would be good... but honestly, that's what I own a 360 for. As a result, the Conduit was just plain blah to me. There was nothing pretty much ever that really jumped out at me and made me think, "damn, that was awesome". Most of the time when playing it I was just bored. And when I wasn't bored, I was frustrated.

I didn't have fun for the first couple of levels, then I started seeing all the glitches. It got fun after that. I've actually started looking for weird things and trying to make stupid things happen. I had a staring contest with a couple guards yesterday. I won. Well, technically I lost because I moved first, but they ended up dead, so it's a win in my book. I also fell through the floor because I did the unthinkable and tried to back up through a closing door. There's also been a ton of glitches with the ASE light.... stuff that for some reason doesn't reflect the light at all.

Honestly the ONLY thing I really like about the game is disintegrating enemies. They got that animation perfect, and it just feels awesome to do. Future HVS games need more details like that and fewer details like the ones I mentioned above.

I like them as the games so far are straight action games and they are willing to experiment with WM+, onling gaming and wii speak.

Actuallty be good to see if they had planned a game based around the balance board.

So far conduit was good but not amazing, so idea wise I salute them, implementation of these ideas I will have to reserve judgement until the grinder and gladiator are released.

AS for the gladiator game I would like to see perhaps a wiiware version of the classic 8bit game Barbarian.

You can have all the good controls you want, but just that fact alone won't save an entire game that lacks any type of creativity or inspiration.

Sorry man, but I think you lowered your standards too much. I don't want a game that's "good enough for the Wii" but something that would be good regardless of what console you're on, and the Conduit fails at doing that.

I actually think the grinder will be better because now they know what they did wrong in the conduit

I only own a Wii, but one of my roomates has all three consoles, so I'm able to play Halo 3, COD:4, etc anytime I want..... and I still find The Conduit enjoyable. For me The Conduit's combat had that wow factor, the weapons and combat were great in that game. I guess it's a matter of taste, just like I personally find Tom Clancy Rainbow Six the most fun FPS this gen... I'm sure many would dissagree.

I really don't get how people say the game is so generic, it's like everyone reads a negative review and posts someone elses opinion as their own. Honestly the idea might not be anything brand new but, neither are the storys behind the majority of FPS games. And how did I lower my standards?..... I enjoy the game. On a personal level I'd say deffending No More Heroes is lowering standards since BASIC componenets of the game like controls and framerate are horrid.

If you thought The Conduit's weapons were great, check out the Laptop gun, Farsight XR-20, Slayer and the Callisto NTG, where the Callisto ammo is actually absorbed by the gun itself.:D

All from Prefect Dark, a 2000 game.I'm just pointing out the weapons are not as unique as some say, that's all.

It's one thing to be defensive about something you like. It's another to make assumptions that people don't have their own opinions and we just take someone else's opinion.:? It's not helping your case.
