yea there basically the same but i dont prefer any pokemon games because i do not find them enjoying. but i heard the people like diamond. why? i havent the slightest idea
I think its because Diamond has more pokemon from the older games that are exclusive to Diamond, while Pearl has more of the new pokemon exclusive to Pearl. But, each one only has like 10-15 pokemon that the other doesnt.

Most people pick Daimond Because they think And I qote " PEARL IS FOR GIRLS AND DIAMOND IS FOR BOY's " I have the game and THERE IS ABSOLUTLY NO DIFFERENT STORY LINE ( i'v played and BEAT both of them ) !!!

I think pearl because " diamonds are cooler than pearls" so evryone has diamond and if you get pearl you can be different.
Also I think Palkia (the pearl legendary) is cooler than Dialga (diamond) because dialga is navy and seriously, who wants a navy pokemon?:P And the way Dialga stands... it's like a chair!
However, shiny Dialga looks wicked.
In the long runit really is up to you but if you want my advice?
There is no gender specific rules to getting one or the other. I got a diamond and Im a woman. I got diamond because I prefered the look of Dialga (the version exclusive legendary). Since the games moved to the DS and WiFi is now avaliable it is possible to get any pokemon you want by trading with people. Whichever one you choose, if there is a pokemon that you cant actually get in that version you can just trade with someone over Wifi or use the GTS.
