It isn't just the store clerks. Several retailer websites now have March as the release date. Nintendo, of course, responded by saying "We don't comment on rumors and speculation", which IMO is not good. They would have debunked it right there unless it's true.

I doubt it because if you remeber the last delay the dojo had removed the launch date for the day. I checked and the launch date is still there. If its still there tomorrow Its pretty much false.
wen i went to preorder it over at EB a few weeks ago (down here in canada)... they told me the same thing as yu (the cashier dudesaid it was delayed AGAIN to march)... i even asked again for reassurance if the cashier dude said march... and he did....
I heard this rumor as well. I think it's posted somewhere on gonintendo or something. Retailers don't know official release dates until they're announced either, so it's just speculation now. But it's not a good sign that stores have reason to believe it will not be out on its official release day. Plus Nintendo has a habit of delaying games...

Cashiers are telling you that brawl was delayed? The same cashiers that asked me if I wanted Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the PSP or the Wii? Yeah, heres a tip, cashiers usually don't work at aplace to be a devout and loyal worker who's in the know on everything, especially when it is a minimum wage job.
helloooo, a delay is good, it only means there making the game better. I say thats worth waiting for. I'll still be happy even if they delay it to next christmas. They have to change that crappy online play. NO NAMES, NO RANKING, i hope the delay is for those reasons.

im pretty sure they have no planes on changing that and could not change it in a month.
