When talking about sequels it's simple guys. If it involves the same characters, which it does, then it's a continuation of hte series. They could easily have made the character Frank Thomas, but no, his name is Chris Redfield.

First: RE4 runs great on Wii, and still would run smooth if it had double the original graphical power
Second: Have you seen the Conduit? The Wii CAN handle some amount of next gen graphics. It just won't have the unnecessary excessive detail that doesn't ad too much.
Conduit doesn't look anything like next gen should. of course because next-gen isn't here yet.[QUOTE="Ultamite-Ninja"][QUOTE="kenakuma"]Here's the diffrence: When Resident Evil 4 came out it was completely diffrent then the previous Resident Evil's. RE5 is the same, but with a new storyline and updated graphics. There is a chainsaw wielding maniac with a mask on, the same gameplay aspects, same enemy's. Except now they speak African? But then again that is what a sequal is supposed to be, BUT RE5 is not a sequal, it's a whole new chapter. SSBB, MKWII, and Animal Crossing are direct sequals.Oh right, kinda like how SSBB is already on the GC and its called SSM, and like how AC:WW is already on the GC and called AC, and like how MK Wii is already on the GC and is called MK: DD, and ........ well you see where Im going :)

Resident Evil 5 is not a direct sequel to 4? Your kidding right? What in the heck do you think the "5" stands for?
As for the gameplay aspects being the same, I guess you didn't play the demo because there is a HUGE new gameplay aspect that sets it faaaaaaaar apart from 4! Its called CO-OP!!! The entire game is now played with a partner, either AI or Human, an that is a BIG change!
The whole game being CO-OP is a bigger gameplay change than anything you got from the newest instillations of MK,SB, and AC!
Didn't Resident Evil 0 use CO-OP?[QUOTE="Captain_Lorelli"]Yea the Wii cant handle the barely updated RE4 graphics in RE5 ......my asskenakuma
Barely up-dated RE4 graphics?
Have you even PLAYED the 5 demo in 1080p?
The game looks AMAZING and blows 4 out of the water visualy!
Like the dev said, the wii crashs at the title screen, so NO, the wii CAN'T handle it!
I've played the RE5 demo and it does look fantasic but I don't see any reason why it couldn't run on Wii at 480p. From what I've seen of it you have areas of similar size to those in RE4 with a similar amount of enemies on screen at once with slightly better AI. Remember that the original RE4 engine was designed for the GC so the extra horsepower Wii has will give them a bit of legroom for optmizations. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than Dead Rising anyway...

Didn't Resident Evil 0 use CO-OP?I wish it did, would've made sense seeing as you spend the whole game with a partner. You could switch between both characters though.

IDK, it would seem like they wouldn't have to do "to much" to water it down for a wii version, but according to the devs they would need to re-build the game from the ground up!?
Whatever man, its CAPCOM (lol)!!! Just wait a couple years for "Resident Evil 5 Directors Cut" or something like that and I'm sure we will see a wii port!
My only question is can Nintendo WFC support the online co-op? I don't see any reason why it couldn't, BUT, as far as I know their isn't any wii games so far that DO support online "campaign" mode co-op?
Give it a ywae and then we'll know something. The only thing RE5 does that cannot be done on a Wii is display at 1080 resolutions.

Lol, no, Resident Evil 5 does a lot more graphically that the wii cannot support besides just the 1080!
Go watch a trailer, screen shot or a gameplay video for your proof!

To be honest I think they're trying to hype their game up when they say that. Its a visually impressive game but the animations and AI aren't that more advanced than RE4. But hey, what do I know? I've only played the demo. Maybe there are set pieces that Wii would struggle with... but that doesn't make porting dead rising any more logical.
As far as co-op goes I don't see a problem either. Guess its down to Nintendo on that one. I'm sure you know how strange they are about all this online voodoo :P
