no, the graphics are perfectly fine. the wii is a totally different system than the 360/ps3. it is not about graphics, but about unique and fun gameplay.
i have a 360 and it blows me away with graphics, but does that make it any better than the wii? nope. they're both fun and have their own charm.
i don't know why people complain about wii graphics when nintendo has never been one to care about graphics? it's like when people try to compare ds and psp graphics...

You know that this and the DS are the only Nintendo systems so far to "not care about graphics" right? SNES boarsted the most powerful hardware, N64 was more powerful than the PS1 (hell, 64 bits > 32) and the Gamecube was stronger than the PS2.
Wii graphics will only bother me when they look like complete crap. ie Far Cry Vengence
Aslong as the graphics quality is better than what we saw on the GC, I have no problem.Â

If their done well and actually use what the system is capable of, then no.
If they are just cheap, quick cash is garbage games, then yes.
Example: SMG, i love it, SSBB, i love it, MP3, i love it, No More Heroes/Manhunt 2 all look good too.
Red Steel, COD3, Far Cry, Escape from bug island ... all examples of games that have graphics that bother me. Â

Nah, behind the whole "blast processing" thing, SNES really was better looking in the end.
I am a Wii owner, and I have to say it. The graphics are not very good. I know Nintendo wanted to go the route of appealing to causual gamers, but at least make the graphics better. When comparing to the 360 (which I also own), the Wii doesn't hold up, especially 2-3 years down the road when the 360 developers unlock the true potential of the system.
So here's my question to you. Do the Wii graphics bother you?

It depends on the game really. Stuff like Mario Galaxy, Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers and Smash Bros look great and use a lot of the power the Wii has over last-gen systems. What bothers me is when we get nothing remotely better than GameCube quality, stuff like Mario Party 8 and the recent Mortal Kombat. Also, games like Wii Play and Sport are purposely simple so I have no problem with those. I've owned a 360 since January of 06, but I haven't really had the same uneasy feelings about the Wii's graphics as you. Will I feel different in 2-3 years? if most Wii games still look like sloppy PS2 ports, then yeah, but if they look a lot like Smash and Galaxy, I guess I'll be content.Â

The SNES was more powerful than the Genesis in terms of everything except CPU speed. Â
They bother me a little..as an owner of a 360. I wish the Wii had something like the 360's achievements.FeegitKiller
I KNOW!
the achievements add so much to the games. They are so pointless, yet so addicting. Â
No, Wii Graphics do not bother me, usually because im too consumed in the game to notice, and I dont mind the simplistic-ness of Wii Sports because the game was made to focus on gameplay, What does bother me is that some developers are not using Wiis potential, even though they have had somewhat of the same tech. for 5 years. But i do give props to Ubisoft owning up to making cruddy ports. Also, the gameplay is not affected greatly by Wiis power, because the technology is new, and powerful, and compressed, so the system is small, but the Wii does not have the graphical power, or other entertainment features, that the other "nexgen" systems have, but i dont care, because Wii is in its own market, while 360, and PS3 are in their own. Lastly, I would love to see games that look like RE4 and Mario Galaxy....and no, as long as developers create good games, and use the Wii to its potential in 2-3 years, it will not bother me

revgamer92
so your basically confirming my statement that super-massive games will be out of reach unless we buy another system, but adding that "you dont care" because you dont need such games.
ok...
the graphics on the wii are fine. i dont think they are below what they should be... the graphics on zelda:tp were pretty good i thought... and its only going to get better.
Suddenly remember why I haven't been visiting this forum. All you ever see is
"WII GRAPHIX SUK!!"
"MY WII COLLECTS DUST!!"
"SHOULD I SELL MY WII?"
"IS MY WII BROKEN?"
"WHERE IS DA ONLINE?!"
etc, etc
Man, I would love to talk about new Wii games and other fun stuff, but this is a crybaby forum, sad to say.
Graphics will never really bother me? It's kind of like as long as I can tell what the object I'm looking at is, like a door, a rock or a person, I don't care. I'm not gonna say "But teh HD door is teh superior game!!11"
There's no point in that, I would have been fine if next-gen was a small improvement over last-gen.Â

Zelda was a Gamecube game ported to the Wii with NO graphical increase. If you think that is good then you don't lnow anything about graphics. In fact, in some places, TP was just atrocious looking. The walls of the caverns looked like a mess. The graphics of the Wii will hit a ceiling very soon. From then on, since PS3 and 360 will continue to get better, you can count on Wii graphics looking worse and worse. I think Nintendo could have made the Wii with much more power for better graphics, A.I., etc. It's too bad they stuck with 6 year old technology to go with the new controller. Oh well, I'll buy one when they are available, and I've played several games on the Wii, but the truth is you really can't expect many games with decent graphics.  Â
It only bothers me if they don't put any effort into the graphics at all. Doesn't matter if they use lower res textures or lower poly models, its when they don't even try designing something with what they have and just leave it like a smear across my tv screen. Like ninja turtles, excite truck, they might even try releasing Blue Stinger for Wii at this rate.
Â
What nintendo need is a game like Odin Sphere, just rip off Odin Sphere's graphics and ill be satisfied.Â
check the experts opinion on the subject.
Â
It doesn't bother me much, it depends on the game, for example, i don't want a Mario that looks like a real person with great models and animations, that kind of games just have to be fun, but there are alot of games that benefit of great graphix and it bother's me that the wii can't provide that. But i knew that when i bought it...
The wii doesn't have to be a substitute to xbox360 or PS3, i think it's a great combination to have wii plus other console, they complement each ohter (ex: the wii doesn't even play dvd's). I only have a wii right now but i want to buy one of the others in the future (when they're cheaper).
In conclusion, the wii doesn't need better graphicx, but it would be so sweet:D Imagine the wii with the power of 4 gamecube's instead of 2...
I think, as I have always tought, that developers never use full potential of a system. Look at games like Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 3 for example. It could safely run on a PS1. I mean, the Wii is two times more powerfull than a Game Cube and all they do is making games with game cube's graphics. Meh, at this time, I would expect something at least double more beautifull than they were on GC, since it IS possible. rafaelszpo
and as long as the devs are making money, they probably wont change that
I mean, Wii Play was the 2nd best selling Wii game last month...casuals always suprise meÂ
What bothers me is the crappy ps2 ports, I hope 3rd party devs quit being lazy once the big 3 come outspendinbigYeah like on the new Mortal kombat they made some parts of the game look really good and in the adventure mode parts of it looked like it was from a PS2 game, but I still really like the game you can just see how they half-assed it
I think the Wii lends itself to more stylised (and dare i say it)cartoonish graphics, which in my oppinion, just dont hold water when it comes to games that need to look realistic like Farcry and Redsteel.
On the other hand, i found Zelda to be quite beutifull in parts, and my latest purchase Mario Strikers (im in europe) blew my socks off and looks absolutely amazing.
Same as most new consoles i think, it takes time for developers to find the best ways of acomplishing greater graphic quality.Â
