Do you think co-op should be a returnin' feature in Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Personally, I don't care if they don't have co-op this time around; but if they do, I want it to be a more in-depth experience, 'cause I don't know about you, but I don't find bein' a pointin' star very entertainin'.:P

So, do you think they should make co-op a returnin' feature in Super Mario Galaxy, or not?

Discuss/

P.S. Sorry, can't make a poll. Hasn't been 24 hrs. since my last one.:P

I dont think it should there was no point in playing co-op in the first galaxy game. If co-op is what people want then people should just buy the mario wii game.

I mostly agree, but it's fun for playing with your kid, or little brother.

I hardly consider what was in Galaxy 1 co-op, it doesn't make the least bit difference to me since I never used the second star anyway.

Yah, I did find it a pretty lame excuse for multiplayer.

When I first heard about mulitplayer in SMG, I was pretty excited. I was thinkin', "Oh boy! Two characters from the classic Mario series able to traverse the same memorable environments together?!? That sounds keen!". Then I heard what the second player actually did. I lost all faith in Nintendo for 5 min. Then I got it back after playin' the awesomeness that is Super Mario Galaxy.:P

It's not supposed to be entertaining for people like you and me. It's supposed to get girlfriends, moms, dads, and friends who aren't into video games a little bit involved. Super Mario Galaxy was a pretty game, so pretty that people who don't play games could sit and watch while you play and actually enjoy it to some degree. The co-op mode was a nice addition for them. And, maybe, after watching you play and helping you with those starbits, the would like to try the game themselves.

I'm completely neutral when it comes to full co-op in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Mainly because, no matter how great said co-op mode could be, Super Mario Bros. Wii will be better in that department.

even though I found the game rather boring after 50%... the game didn't need multiplayer imo.

That's what NSMB is for... good ol' classic, butt-kicking game-play with your friends.

Galaxy is not set up for that

I don't care if it does or not. If Yoshi's egg attacks made a comeback though, I would prefer a return of the co-op system.

Player 2 is largely responsible for Star Bits. They shoot enemies with them. That's basically it, so no interfering really.

that's what I would've guessed....

They should've let players try to mess the other players up.

I also think they should have a charge "star bits" shot. Destroying enemies instead of just knocking them unconscious

well i hated the "co op " on galaxy and i couldnt bear to play it that way, it was annoying and mostly useless and boring.I hope they dont add it ,and if they add some sort of 2 player mode, either do it for Mini games ala Mario Bross 3 or something in the lines of the DS games. Or a true freakin co op split screen mode. But id feel a bit bad if they repeat that huge mistake.

Yes it should feature.

Why? Because I love playing games, while my partner is more of a casual gamer. Perfect in Super Mario Galaxy. As others have stated, this can be applied tolittle brothers/sisters etc.

Why not add it? It's such a minor thing that doesn't interfere with those who play 1 player, while it makes a huge difference to those who have casual players who want to participate.

The casuals collects the starbits, so they feel they can have some kind of interaction/participation, and they get to watch some cool animation (like a movie or something) to keep them occupied. A harmless, nice addition.

I don't consider that co-op. I consider co-op two players on the screen at once where they both are actually do something instead of getting rid of star bits that actually help you get new levels. It didn't do anything useful, it made it worse.

Why? Having the same multi-player in Galaxy 2 as there was in the first game wouldn't make the game worse in any way. It would only make the people wanting it happy. "Let's trash it, so no one can enjoy what I didn't!" Sounds a little bit selfish, don't you think?

I hope to actually get him to play a video game and see how he likes it, and I think New Super Mario Bros. Wii would be the perfect game to try it with.:D

Yes, you can interfere with gameplay. Whenever player two clicks on Mario he jumps. It proves very effective at adding a level of challenge when your roommates are around to mess with you.

Basically they collect star bits, shoot enemies with star bits, if they press on mario while player 1 presse A it makes mario do a super jump, they can stun enemies (which can be very usefull on 'Fast Foe' comets) and make mario do a normal jump by pressing on him. Co-op in galaxy is kinda usefull, and proper co op wouldn't go well in the game IMO so i say keep this co op in galaxy 2. Its really not that bad.

I'd like a co-op with Mario & Luigi. Not that it;d ever happen but it'd be cool, if this NSMB! Wii goes over well with critics it would be the wise move.
