yes and that's why I haven't spent any money on the VC as of yet. For the same price as a legal rom download, I can go on eBay and buy the actual cart, in the original box with the manual. IMO, that's a much better use of my money.

Wrong quite a few go up over eighty bucks. A lot of people pay 70 bucks or more for Sin and Punishment which is coming to the vc.

Player's Choice took years for each of the platforms it came out on. It will be years before the prices on the vc go down and it will likely be a dollar. Price drops can be quite harmfull to sales. Guess you didn't listen to that part in business class.

Dude. I don't think there overpriced, I friggin know it. But when a certain few games come out such as Super Mario RPG, EarthBound, and chrono trigger. You will be saving money by getting them over the VC shockingly.

[QUOTE="bretthorror"]

Anyone who knows anything about game pricing knows they're high. One only needs to look at the Sega Genesis Collection, it has 30+ games on it and retails for $20. If they are making money at way under a dollar per game, and that's with stores making their profits, packaging, materials, etc... they're making way too much on the VC.

It's like others have stated. $8 for Super Metroid, fine. $5 for NES Tennis, come on now. Make the prices fairer so it's not only the cream of the crop being put on people's Wiis. With all the compilations out there, it's pretty easy to say that they're overcharging and anyone who can't see this is delusional.

Maybe for Sin and Punishment but I'm not interested in that game anyways. I've got eBay open right now, looking at a list of complete (cart, box, manual) genesis games and the most expensive one is still more than a dollar less than the VC price. Good games like Sonic 1 2 3, knuckles, the original Mortal Kombat, Comix Zone, Earthworm Jim and Vectorman.

Although, a complete copy of Gunstar Heroes is going to run you well over 20 bucks, (partially of which I attribute to its appearance on the VC but mostly because the game freakin rules) so for some games the VC is the better option. But on the whole, I don't expect everyone to share my opinion as I'm more of a collector and I like having the physical cart whereas most folks are just looking for an easy way to play the game.
