Do you think we will ever see a revised Nunchuk?

We all must be aware that it's motion sensing ability is not up to scratch in quite a few games. It seems to be dependant on how it's used of course. Even the best developers using the best software tools like LiveMove still have problems creating controls that work efficiently and effectively.

Software drives these changes, feedback from developers does also, that was primarily the reason for why Wii MotionPlus came about. With the rumoured PunchOut! Wii on the way I naturally thought it was a shame that the Nunchuk would not be able to provide the same level sensing ability that Wii MotionPlus will give when it's released. I think if it did it would pown any new version of Fight Night for fun on any other platform.

Could we see a revision one day?

That sir is a very interesting thought. You could well be right. I need to read up more on how the device works. If it's collating data from the exsiting motion sensing flaps in the Wii Remote, why not the Nunchuk also.

If it is the case Wii MotionPlus is going to be well worth the expense when it does arrive.

The MotionPlus detects motions. And it doesn't move if you move the Nunchuk only. Therefore, it can't collect motion data to send to the Wii.

There was already a gap between the Wiimote and Nunchuk. The gap has been increased now, at it does suck to have a Nunchuk nowhere close to what the Motion Plus is. It would be nice to have the same thing in both hands.

I would like a wireless nunchuk so I could flail my arms around like crazy once Castlevania Judgement comes out. I will be a waggle-crazy gamer with that game! And probably also with Star Wars: Force Unleashed.

Once Wii Motion Plus comes out, I'll just be looking for software that supports dual wielding Wiimotes. Let's just eliminate the nunchuk altogether! heh.

Yea some games have gotten it right, others not so much. I think Red Steel made the best use of the nunchuck to date.

In Battalion Wars II jumping is controlled by flicking the nunchuck up or down, and it only works like 60% of the time, and its pretty frustrating.

Same thing with Wii boxing, in which the controls are even more unreponsive than those of the Wii-remote.

I definitely think they should do something about this, and I think they will. Either they will be doing a better job with the motions, or they will make a new one.

On the subject of Wirless Nunchuks, Nintendo recently filed a lawsuit on Nyko for producing one that looks too much like their original patented design. I had hoped they did so because they planned to release one of their own initially. I now know better, it's not going to happen for a while, if ever. We are still waiting on fricking Wii Remote chargers!, let alone wireless Nunchuks. Nintendo always get lawsuits thrust on them, I suppose it's about time they did the same. How can you create a comfortable Nunchuk without infringing on Nintendo patent?. If Nintendo are going to take one off the market they can at the very least replace it with a product of their own.

Wii motion plus contains 3 giroscopes decting the angle of the wiimote and that kind of thing, it won't detect anything for the nunchuk like someone mentioned it could. If it was just collecting data, then a firmware update could do the same thing.

Punchout will be 2-player, so it would make more sense to have 2 people using four motionplus remotes.

I think it needs a revision as well.

All it's ever been used for (that I know of) is flicks or waggle motions. The games might tell you to do this or that....but you can make random motions and it will still work.

If another Nunchuk is not released or it doesn't advance with Wii MotionPlus....I fear that PO Wii will receive many lower scores unless they can nail it down better than Wii Boxing.

You could never go as far as to day it's broken even in it's current form, it's down to the skill of the programmer to get the best out of it, still, it must make their job a lot harder because it is a little cumbersome if the truth be told.

The rumour is that PunchOut Wii will use the Wii Balance Board as well, it's certainly a nice thought :D If it is all true it wont be coming to Wii until mid 2009 at the earliest anyway :(
