Long topic I know :)

I gotta be honest.  Other than Smash, Zelda, Metroid and Mario I have no interest in any of the other games being offered on the system.  When I heard of the Wii, and all this good stuff, I was with everyone else.  PUMPED.  Now that I have the system, all I have is PORTS.  Ports with crappy controls.

Zelda?  Port.  Controls worked, somewhat.  Paper Mario?  Port.  I realize that the system is still young, but at the same time, I want games now.  Does anyone else feel this way?

I am seriously considering getting an xbox, just so I can play some games.  And honestly, I know GTA is a mixed bag with alot of Nintendo fans, but the lack of GTA being on Wii is a huge hit.

Just had to vent, and was wondering how others felt, thanks for your time!

I could care less for Smash Bros. or Metroid. I preferred Zelda on GameCube as well.

I bought my Wii for Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 3 and Harvest Moon, as well as the Virtual Console.

I knew full well what I was getting into, and knew I'd end up buying a 360 as my "main" console. If anything I forced myself into buying a Wii :)

Yes. Ill probably get flamed, but at least at the moment Wii is a "secondary" system. It is great, but its hard for the Wii to be only console in your house. I feel the Wii is much more different than the X360 and PS3 -the games are completely different, while on the next gens the games are pretty similar. I myself am getting a PS3 as soon as i buy a HDTV. Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gran Turismo 5 pretty much convinced me to buy that, not the Microsofts console. Thats doesnt mean im not satisfied with my Wii - its a great console, but we wont get good racing games for example, just because it cant handle the sweet graphics and complicated physics. So yeah, true gamers will only be satisfied with a Wii60 or a PSWii combo (richer ones will go for a PSWii60) :P

Nope, since I'm still not interested on the 360 or the PS3. The 360 has nothing than more shooters and online gaming which I'm not a fan of both of them and the PS3 has nothing period. I begin my wishlist on the 3 consoles: Wii has more games that I'm interested, Blue Dragon is the only game I'm interested on the 360 and the PS3 has 0.

For topic- no because that would kill the purpose of competion and is essentially just giving up and for your concerns i think Nintendo is pushing it's developers to make more games as well as better quality. so in the near future alot more games should be announced so i'm taking it easy, i'm used to the waiting 8)

I don't know if Nintendo forced me to do it, but I bought a 360 a few months after I bought my Wii.

Gotta admit my 360 is all I play... oh well mario soon and MP3 I suppose.

That is why I am buying a 360.

I am not going to buy it until the end of the year.  But there are so many games on the 360 that are begging for me to play them.  And with DMC4 coming to the 360, the only news I am waiting on to seal the deal on the 360 is where KH is going.

But I do agree, that with Nintendo you miss a lot of great games, but it could be said in reverse, with a 360/PS3 you miss a lot of great Nintendo games.

I think Nintendo and a PS3/Xbox360 is the way to fully get a gaming experience for the gen.

The only thing i didn't like about the wii is the fact that they try n' force you buy peripherals. They get you to buy the classic controller in order to play VC games (which also are somewhat pricey imo), which then lack compatability with previous gamecube games - again which forces you to buy the GC controllers if you weren't a gc owner.

Don't get me wrong, I think the wii's great. I have both a ps3 and a wii and i spend wayy more time with the wii - for now.

I agree. To me Nintendo consoles are about Nintendo franchises and that is about it. They always manage to get one or two really good third party games a generation but that is about it. You just miss out on too many games without another console.

Exactly. I mean, I love my Wii. But there's nothing on it. Virtual Console? Okay, but I own all the games I'm going to download, so why? At least with XBL they come with online. I think my main gripe is online play for the most part. I thank you all for your imput, this is really great!

Really have you seen Little Big World for PS3? Looks like it could have been developed by Nintendo. How about Resident Evil 5? No? Not even a little curious about Final Fanstasy? Assasin's Creed? Sorry, but if you think neither the PS3 or 360 has anything coming down the pipe then you may just not be a gamer. :)

Anyway, if you couldn't tell, I agree with the original post to a certain degree. I'm fired up for Paper Mario, but all in all the better games are coming out on 360 this year. The Wii has some good stuff in the pipe, but it looks more and more likely alot of that will not be out for months. But Nintendo isn't forcing me... I don't care about being loyal to Nintendo. They are a corporation with a great public image, but lets face it... The evidence shows they care more about money than games. The other guys have a reputation for being greedy, but the numbers just don't back this up when you compare it to Ninty. Why would you feel reluctant to go with another company? I guess money is always an issue, but I wouldn't feel any guilt with spending my money on good games.

To hardcore Nintendo fans, don't you ever get tired of waiting?

Oh well, the Wii still has alot of potential for great gaming.

Agreed. I had a feeling the Wii wouldn't have tons of good games or originals during the beginning, but I'm fine with it, I do have other games and systems to preoccupy my time with while I wait for the games I want.

If the Wii is such a second rate system then why is it currently outselling the PS3 and Xbox 360 at about a 3 to 1 rate each?

Not this argument... Were the Spice Girls the greatest band on earth? Is Nelly the greatest living poet? Are the only good games the ones that sell well? Was ICO a turd or something? Is Wii Play better than TP in Japan, but not here? Are VW bugs better cars than Ferrari's?

Besides, he didn't say the system was second rate. He's just saying that it hasn't lived up to its potential. I think anyone who's ever bought a system during its first year felt like this.

Agreed again. Dont get any of us wrong, there ARE great Nintendo games...but they are coming out. And I want to play something now. It's kindda like I have to buy another system, just so I can play games. It's the only point i'm trying to make.

By a similar argument, everyone who owns just a 360/PS3 (or both) without owning a Wii is also missing out on a lot. I don't have a 360 or PS3 yet basically 'cause I don't have time to play another console now so I'm waiting it out to see which of the two will become more dominant and get more of the games that I'm interested in (and several price drops wouldn't hurt, either).

Nailed it.  The first year for the 360 was the same way.  Very little in the way of excellent games, but now we're swimming in them.  it's a matter of time for Wii.

2)  That's your opinion but other's haven't found their own games of interest on the 360 as of yet.  Not everyone is into shooters.

3)  Well, it's all about the games we play and if there's no games of interest, why drop a load of cash on something that will collect dust?  When there are good games on the PS3/360 I'll consider one.

Sorry, but if you really honestly think that the only great games out right now are on Wii then you are a Nintendo fan. Not a gamer, but a Nintendo fan. If you think the only good games coming out in the next 12 months are on the Wii, again, you are a fanboy and not a true gamer. To cross off two entire consoles and embrace another just reeks of fanboyism. everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I'm entitled to call them out on poorly constructed oppinions.

When the 360/PS3 has good games... Does the Wii currently have THAT many good games, that you just HAD to have? Lets face it, there is a certain amount of faith that goes into buying a new system and you could have gotten Zelda on Gamecube.

You cannot possibly convince me that anyone who is "system agnostic" really feels that the Wii currently has the most Killer aps in any one genre other than party games.

Oh, and since when does the 360 only have shooters? Last time I checked it had great games in every genre... Sounds like fanboy talk to me. This is a non-argument. Gamers love games. Fanboys love the companies who make the games.

I enjoy my Wii, but I'm not gonna fool myself into believing the other two systems has nothing I may enjoy, because I don't love Nintendo. I love games.

Nintendo is forcing no one to do anything people get the systems they want, all this talk about secondary systems is a joke I have more than one eeach generation and don't think of either as my first or second choice systems, I get them for exclusive games that I want on the system, and then the third party ones are mainly down to what i fancy it on at the time. Also only having a Nintendo console does not make you any less of a gamer than some one who has multiple consoles, hell not everyone has time and money to invest in more tha one so you stick to what you like, it makes it far cheaper. I learnt that the hard way last gen.

You are right, but to pretend the only good games are on the Wii is different than not being able to afford it, or any of the 1,000,000 great reasons to only own one system. I only own a Wii, but I'm not so silly as to deny there are good games on other formats.

I don't believe I said anything about the Wii having the only great games out right now.  I also didn't cross off two entire consoles.  And I didn't express any love for any company.

Yes you're entitled to have your misguided opinion, but you're not entitled to put words in my mouth, despite how poorly constructed my oppinion may seem to you.

You were the one claiming the 360 has the better games, so who's the real fanboy?

Most of the 360's top selling games are shooters, you're denying this?  Great games in every genre... That's your opinion.  It doesn't have "great" games in the genres I enjoy...  Yet.

I love games too but to be a gamer, I don't have to love all games from all genres.  There's nothing wrong with waiting to buy a console until it has the games you want to play.  If you think I'm fooling myself by not wasting my money and waiting, then I have nothing further to say as there is no question to me as to who is the real fool.

I owned a 360 at launch and only bought five games for a whole year: Oblivion, PGR3, CoD2, GRAW, Fight Night Round 3. After those games it was months later until I bought Gears of War and Dead Rising. My 360 was collecting some serious dust over quite a long period after launch.

No, I don't feel like it's forced. But honestly, I'm not too upset with the Wii launch. The Wii is actually a lot more bearable at launch than most systems I've owned around their launch time.

I'm happy with my Wii so far. There's still some games I need to get I just need the money.

I will also be getting a 360 sometime this year. I wasn't sure on whether or not to get one but seeing that GTA IV Trailer pretty much sealed the deal.

I don't think this whole deal about the Wii getting crappy ports is as big as everyone is making out. I only have one port, GT Pro Series and it's awesome so........... BLAARRRGGGGHHHH!

I'm quite aware of this. I think its a piss poor excuse. Port or not its going to be a must buy for the system. Anyone who complains about the Wii just needs to shut up, or sell thier system if they aren't happy with it. I went thru the gamecube era, I had all that experience in mind when buying the Wii. And I also have a DS, NES, SNES, Xbox, PS2, N64 with tons of great games out there I havn't touched. I've got plenty to play, and so should anyone else. I don't see what there is to complain about.

your forced to just as much as your forced to buying a new xbox360 or ps3
