Generally, no, I don't use strategy guides. I'll admit, I used online guides a few times with Twilight Princess (I honestly would have never thought to transport the fire rock to Zora's Domain...). I actually did get a strategy book for Super Paper Mario though, I wanted to find out how to find all the hidden goodies.
Although I don't know why you needed approval from us, why does it matter if other people use them? They're still in stores right? They must be selling if they keep making the damn things.
No. The last guide I actually owned was the Ocarina of Time guide I got for free with my Nintendo Power subscription. Relying too much on a guide ruins the sense of accomplishment in most games.
Don't buy a guide anyway; you can get quicker information for free. Gamefaqs.com has everything you'd ever need if you get stuck in a game. I do occasionally use a FAQ if I'm absolutely stuck in a game, but only as a last resort.
i do i hate the puzzles i find it easyer this way just get the guid and stay on track lol moondoggeyYou suck at life. Anyways, I think strategy guys should only really be used after the first playthrough. They're good if there is a lot of content, but otherwise I say screw it.

I have to agree, if I spend $50+ on a new game, why do I want to spend more money on a guide and ruin the overall joy of the game. Yes, if I get stuck in a game, (i got stomped a couple of times in Twilight Princess) I may refer to an online guide, get past the part and close down the PC. Whatexcitement is there in saying, "I BEAT THE GAME by doing exactly what the creators told me to do in text form." NO joy, you always know whats going to happen, you might as well save your money and just read the strategy guide from cover to cover.
Everybody uses guides, but nobody likes to admit it. It's like the game beat us, and in turn we fail at life.
But buying a guide?!? Are you serious? Don't buy one, just read one off GameFAQs. Other than the fact that you have to pay for the guide, they can never be updated either. So, when something cool or new is found about the game, it won't be in your magazine, but it'll be online.

Well-said, I totally agree

I do the same thing as you. I use mostly Gamefaqs to an answer to my problems. The last player guide that I bought was for Paper Mario: TTYD on GameCube.
