It was extremely boring and if I was silly enough to compare it to SMG1, 2, and SM64 then it would be beyond mediocre. Probably the worst $40 I spent in a long time and the worst 3D Mario outside of Sunshine. 7 from me at best.Blabadon
Finally someone else agrees with me! I hated this game so much, I honestly do not know if Spirit Camera or Mario 3D Land was the worse waste of money.
I like Super Mario 3D Land a lot but I think New Super Mario Bros. 2 is much better. I do not know how everyone can complain about NSMB2 being too easy but no one ever says a peep about SM3DL.
Well, yes, at least a contender since it seems to be decent, but Super Mario Galaxy (1 and 2) are both much better, so whilst it's a contender, it'll have no easy time convincing me ;)

But this game is waaaay TOO easy, Galaxy was at least challenging in a couple of stage's

Even the special worlds were 'waaaay TOO easy'?Yes...except for the unlockable world, that was suuuuper hard :P
I can't really argue man. It was very fun. I loved the graphics, the music and the way it generally made me feel while playing it. I gave it a 9/10 and yes it's up there with some of the great Mario games. Definitely the best of the handheld ones I've played. The Mario games I would definitely put before it though are Super Mario 64, Super Mario World and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
Even the special worlds were 'waaaay TOO easy'?DoctorWho88Yes. Those weren't challenging in the least.
I ended up beating the game 5 times and getting 100%. It only took 15 hours (3 hours per playthrough). I wouldn't rank it with the best Mario games, but it was fun; however, I can't help but laugh when people say that the counterargument for difficulty is the remixed worlds after the original 8.
Not in my book. I like most of the console ones better and Mario Land 2: The 6 Golden Coins is still my favorite hand-held mario.

You stole my post :P All the previous 3D Marios ruined 3D Land for me.
1) Super Mario World
2) Super Mario Bros. 3
3) Super Mario Galaxy 2
4) Super Mario 64
5) Super Mario Galaxy
6) Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels
7) Super Mario 3D Land
8) Super Mario Bros.
9) Super Mario Bros. 2
10) Super Mario Sunshine
Well at least thats how I see the top 10. Super Mario 3D Land is very good but there are many that are much better. I can see people putting it above The Lost Levels but for me that is one of the best and most underrated Mario games. Its difficulty offers a feeling of excitement and and satisfaction whenever you succeed where as I don't feel like any other Mario game had anything like that. Nothing is just handed to you in Lost levels
Not quite.
Asides from not having enough content compared to the galaxy games or some of the 2d games it also wasn't quite challenging enough, although the final level was certainly pretty tough :P
It is still a well made game however, with pretty nice graphics, superb sound and good level design with some good secrets. There was also quite a bit of attention to detail, the on little thing that stuck in my mind was the music subtely changing if you went inside a little interior section of an otherwise exterior level.
