This is here for you to complain about the money grubbing nintendo console, the DSi.

My main complaint is with the disappearance of backwards compatability, i though backwards compatability was what nintendo was all about.

It's all minor changes, except for the camera. Nintendo can just add the web browser with a software update. DSI = FAIL!Steameffekt

Both the original DS and DS Lite do not support software updates. However, the DSi probably will, which is one of its stronger points.

If the Downloadable Service turns out to be good, I'll get it.

same here, i'd have to see whats going on with the downloadable content and the way they handle that, though IMO the internet browser is sttupid, if you have wireless internet then you obviusly have a compy. i have a psp and a ds light, and the psp browser is rarely used.

The DS doesn't support firmware updates. And I suspect the internal ROM is too small anyways. Also the browser needs more than the 4MB of RAM that are built in. Hence the fact that Opera comes with a expansion cart for the GBA slot.

The DSi adds a SD slot as well. Which actually makes it possible to store downloaded stuff on it.

Yeah, thats why it has ALOT lower sales than Xbox and Wii wich are both BC -.- And thats why Sony have fired thousands of employees lately ..... Seriously, I like Sony, I own PS2 and PSP, and think that PS3 is a great but hightly underastemated console, but using PS3 as a example is a HORRIBLE idea.... Anyway, I wont buy DSi, its just stupid, they added some useless gadgets and taken the good stuff (battery life, GBA slot...) , and in fact it looks uglier than DS lite. And the download fueture.... what games will we be able to download with hardware power of DS? Tetris? Pacman?!? Get real people, Nintendo is slowly comming in direction of MS type corporation. I just hope Nintendo realizes what have they created and wont make things like that again...

I am happy with my DS Lite, so no, I won't be purchasing a DSi. There are too many good games available for me to waste money on a console I already have.

That's true. It's like everyone is just going to toss their DS Lites in the trash the second the DSi is available. You CAN have both, you know. It's the same with the PS3. That's why I get so frustrated when people whine about it. People ARE allowed to have a PS3 and PS2 at the same time. George Bush isn't going to come take one or the other away.ItsEvolution

I don't think it's the backwards compatibility that gamers are whining about with the PS3. They are annoyed that Sony have not delivered what they promised with the PS3, and still have the temerity to set its cost so much higher than its competitors. And guess what, gamers aren't stupid, and the PS3 (unlike the PSOne and PS2) is dead last. Hopefully Sony will put much more of an effort and actually listen to their consumer base with the PS4.

The loss of a GBA slot won't affect me, or anyone else who has a DS, whatsoever.

let me say this if you're worried about the gba games, keep your lite.if you have to sell your lite buy a GBA. right now you could probably find one for 50 to 15$. besides. the dsi wont be a downgrade.a camera, sd card slot, downloadable service. i will be buying one.

i still have the old OG silver ds from first shipment..

the dslite didnt attract me really but the dsi looks pretty cool and looks worth the money compared to my outdated ds

and the webbrowser and ds store sound cool :)
