They do make their console and handheld parts available to retailers. Your anger at Nintendo on this matter is misplaced. The stores are the ones that tend not to carry the products you are looking for. e.g. If you are looking for an older DS charger at Gamestop and they dont carry it, it's not Nintendos fault. It's Gamestops. Then again, they arnt going to carry something that doesnt sell well either. The chargers are cheap and there are many 3rd part brands out there that work with the older model. Consider other retailers or online sources if you dont want an official charger.

you're right it just bothers me that i can go to 3 diffrent stores and they'll have a full row of lite chargers and not a single of the older
