DS Shutting off when closed?

hey, I have a DS lite and I'm playing phoenix wright (3) and the last few times i've shut my DS it has turned off/frozen. I just want to know if anyone else has ever had this problem? Do you think its the game? DS? (i don't have time to check with another game)

I have never had this problem bfore and i have a dslite also. Mine just goes to sleep. Maybe theres a glitch in the DS.

same happened to me the other day

it magically turned off when I wasn't playing with it in sleep mode

There are two possibilities. One, if your DS has moved around while in sleep mode, the cartridge could have loosened ever so slightly causing the game to freeze because it isn't being read and there is no more data being stored in the RAM. Two, your DS could have faulty wiring in the hinge, causing it to simply power off instead of going to sleep. the first one is somethign I"ve experienced firsthand, but the second is just speculation on my part.

I've seen it commonly happen to mine and my friends also. If its that big of a deal I would by a new one; That is if you have the money.

Its happened to me once or twice. I fancy is the wiring or the DS card comes loose ever so slightly, casuing it to do that.
