It's wierd how they compared a DS Lite instead of the original DSi. Anyway, it still makes the point.

Lol imagine games where the top and bottom screen link together, it'd look weird (for example, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Metroid Prime Hunters (in the cut scenes) etcs.)

The DSi has a screen size of 3.25". The DS Lite has a screen size of 3"

It would be better to compare the DSi's 3.25" screen against the rumored bigger screen 4" model, than the DS Lite's 3" screen.

I'm almost still hoping it just a rumor about these screen sizes. xD I think the games will be streched out a little too much. It didn't matter on the first DSi because it wasn't too much of a difference. And I'll buy it if we can trade in our DSis for it and they actually make ACCOUNTS per person for DSiWare instead of just each DSi.

Honestly, i don't think this is real. Its a silly move and if it did happen it wouldn't leave Japan.

Seriously 4 inch screens? They made them bigger with the DSi to begin with. I don't think its happening. Its probably some confused information about the DS-Tegra that someone is misinterpreting as a new DSi, where as its really the DS-Tegra.

And come on, release in 2009? Ya know the year with like 60 days left? No. No way Nintendo would release something this late with so little marketing. Its not like announcing DSi Oct 1st 08 and releasing it Nov 1st 08 in Japan, this would be announced today and it might still miss the holiday black friday shopping season

the longer this isn't confirmed, the less and less likely its true in any way. they would've already missed a huge chunk of advertising time this fall.

so basically they're remaking the ds phat as a version of the dsi, well that's alright by me as long as its serving its purpose helping out the old people that can't see the small screen well :P

Exactly! I don't care how big they make the screen. I'm not trading in my current DSi unless all my downloads would transfer.

Well, I guess the doubters (myself included) were wrong. But I'm definitely not getting this thing...it's ugly! Besides, I already have a bunch of DSiware games that won't transfer and this is just a size upgrade. Not worth it...

That's just my opinion on the matter, but it's my opinion you're calling into question, so it's a valid point in this case. The second thing (and this is really just a minor complaint) is that I don't like the look of the speakers. I'd rather it belike the normal DSi or even the DS lite. I like the idea of bigger screens, but I don't need my portable system to be as big as a DVD case when opened. Maybe the inclusion of 2 screens means that they can be modestly sized instead of oversized?

My bad, I thought that was the straight up US price tag and not just the US value in yen.

I'm finding it hilarious how people are calling the DSi the next gen handheld

The "small" DSi was Nintnedo's effort trying to gain one last demographic before it hit it's next generation of handheld. The DS base has been getting stale and the DSi was trying to open it up. After that didn't work we now see SABATO GIGANTE DSi!

This is Nintendo's plan to grab that one demographic for the DS and have it invest in it's software

Depending on how that turns out we'll see the next gen handheld adopt what worked this gen

I know I'm picking up two of these, one for me and one for my Mom.
