I went into EB games the other day to check out their Nintendo Offerings and these are the prices I got...

Wii Play (Game only/Pre-owned/retail + wiimote $79.95) $49.99 AUS

Batallion Wars GC (Pre Owned/retail $99.95) $93.99 AUS

Harvest Moon: WL GC (Pre-owned/ retail $49.95/Players Choice) $69.95 - A $20 MARK UP!!!!

Star Fox Assault GC (Pre-Owned/retail $99.95) $89.95 AUS

Final Fantasy Tactics GBA (Pre Owned/no book or box/retail $69.95) $60 AUS

Golden Sun GBA (Pre Owned/No book or box/retail $69.95) $54.95 AUS

And the trend continued through the GBA, DS and GC range the average drop in price for a pre owned game was aroung $11 and the Wii was about $6.

This store is ridiculous, they used to sell quite cheap when compared to the other chains, now I only shop at Toys R' Us and I used to think they were expensive...

No one's forcing you to pay these prices.  Shop around for a better deal.

Used games are usually quite expensive at chains like these. In addition, none of the money from used games goes to the people who make them. So, I'd say if you're going to buy used, at least buy from a local store that you like to support a local business, not Gamestop.

I hate how EB games will have used games that only cost 10$ less than new games.   They are a freaking rip off.

EB Games in Australia is one of the worst places to shop. I don't know about the U.S, but in Australia it's truly retarded. In retaliation to Big W's, K-Mart's JB's and Target's discounts on a number of wii products, EB decides to put $10 off one randomly selected title per month.

Everywhere is upto $20 cheaper than EB. EB might 'take games seriously' but sure as hell don't care about the consumer.

EB games is a huge rip-off... they still want $20-something USD for a used copy of Donkey Kong Country on GBA. They also only wanted to give me $28 USD for my copy of Crackdown for 360, which means they make a $27 USD profit. They were giving $5 USD for Final Fantasy X-2 for PS2 after that was released for trade-in and were selling it for $45. The store is a bunch of thieves and what they do -- regardless of whether or not it is "optional" as some people around here like to say -- should be illegal. But there's nothing we can do to stop it because no one here is willing to issue a petition and organize a formal gamer boycott. So this is it... but EB Games doesn't read Gamespot's forums. Jeez, I don't even know why I do. Your voice goes unheard here, and you're going to need to take bigger action than this to inspire change.

If you want to get something together, PM me some ideas... but do it after April 3rd... gotta pick up my pre-ordered Guitar Hero 2, lol.

Exactly, I have a local game shop here in New Mexico that sells all used games, Starfox Assault (last time I seen it there) was $5.95 (American), and same 4 Harvest Moon: AWL except $6.95 (American). But I go there because I find old games like Splinter Cell and Fable for $2.
