[QUOTE="rawr_xd"]Who else is expecting Nintendo to announce a new console in 2010? I'm not saying release, just announce. I fully expect it. I mean look at their track record, they have already saturated the market with the Wii, and looking back at things Nintendo has done... like the Nintendo DS Lite and DSi. There has only been a few times where they release two Zelda games on one console (not counting ports), and they have the money and fan base to make the new system a success. What do you guys think?Sepewrath
If ports don't count, than technically wouldn't the Wii be Zelda-less so far and thier not going to announce a new console when the current one hasn't had a Zelda yet. But speaking of two Zelda's you shouldn't just quote IGN because N64 and GC both had two Zelda' s, so current trends indicate two Zelda's for the Wii, ports included of course. In other words, its not even a possibility.
^Nintendo doesn't need to answer the other motion controls, no one is going to run out and buy a HD console so they can play Wii Fit in HD; that so called casual market isn't going anywhere. The only reason Nintendo needs to move on to more competitive hardware is to make life easier for 3rd parties.
You forget, MS could have a $130 X360 Arcade, and $90 Natal with Fitness games (with casual friendly Netflix, Avatars, etc) as a huge selliing point
my point is, if those motion controllers sell 10-20million, and bring more users into their consoles, Nintendo will have something to fear
Afterall, we saw this year casuals are spending a bit less on Wii gaming, EA Sports Active as the main exception, and only Nintendo titles selling well to casuals
3rd parties won't have to compete with casual nintendo titles on other consoles if their titles continue to underperform on Wii
i don't think they will BUT you can't rule it out
Life isn't easy for 3rd parties on Wii right now, it hasn't been since launch
