Nintendo doesn't need to answer the other motion controls, no one is going to run out and buy a HD console so they can play Wii Fit in HD; that so called casual market isn't going anywhere. The only reason Nintendo needs to move on to more competitive hardware is to make life easier for 3rd parties.Sepewrath

From personal experience my own parents who are over the age of 50 are so excited for there tax return cause they will be able to get an HDTV. They have both played the Nintendo and LOVE the controles. They have also used NetFlix on the 360. Once they can play an HD wii sports with the xbox and scroll through netflix with the greatest of ease. They will have no need for the Nintendo anymore....Nintendo is gonna have to give them a reason to buy. Thats just one instance you cant sit there and say that customers arent gonna go anywhere else. Nintendo will indeed need to answer back to M$ and Sony imo. The hardware wont just be there for the 3rd parties, Satoru Iwata said that they will up the horse power of there console when there own developers tell him they need it and Miyamoto has already complained about not being able to do what he would like with the Wii. Like I said its only imo that 2010 will be the beginning of the end for the Wii.

so hardware-wise, the Wii can handle 720p? if so why won't they abuse that? and also, enlighten me about dual-layer discs and why they don't use it that much....

I wonder if this means that Zelda Wii might get pushed back to 2012 so it can get ported to the Wii 2 just like what happened to TLP? :P

Man that would seriously suck! :|

Yup..it would seriously sux...I hope it doesn't happen, it will see as another laziness on Ninti's part. I'd rather it be pushed back & utilise the horsepower of the new system rather than make it for Wii then port it over to new system..or just make it for Wii & a another new Zelda for the new system

Ya I think Ninty messed up when they decided to hold TLP over for the Wii and port it. Because of that it looks like they took away time that could have been spent on making Zelda Wii and thats probably why its taking so long to be made, they had a late start...

But then again they needed a big game at launch for the Wii and TLP definetly accomplished that goal!

I think holding off on TP was the right business decision. Release a new and different console with a new controller input method.....with one of your most critically acclaimed franchises. Made me buy it.
