For one: FFVII is the most over-rated, done to death game Ive ever played. That game does not deserve the recognition it gets, and was probably the worst Final Fantasy Ive ever played. I would rather see a quality, not over-rated Final Fantasy hit stores. My personal favorite on the PS1, FF9.
Secondly: Its never been re-announced, for any system, ever. A Spinoff game or two, but not FF7 in general. And hopefully, it never will...
Now, excuse me, as Im probably gonna get flamed and labeled a troll.
agree. FF7's spin-offs are annoying to death. We need some more FF8 recognition! For one: FFVII is the most over-rated, done to death game Ive ever played. For it to work, they'd have throw all the pre-rendered crap onto a GBA cart and use them both at the same time. It's possible, but it can't just be a "Throw to TOSE" project like the other portable FF's. I doubt Square-Enix would take the time to do it.
FF7 is not the GREAT! Very little replay value for one. I mean who wants to do all 3 discs again? And i wouldnt buy this for DS even if it was true.bobstrife

Ill agree with you that Halo is done to death and over rated. I simply like the avatars design best of the ones available, and I dont feel like making a different one. So you fail.
And, unless they did a complete overhaul of the graphics, they wouldnt have to do that. It would be completely do-able without the GBA cart, if they only tweaked the graphics a little. Most fan boys wouldnt care. It could be in black and white, with stick figures, as long as it has FF7 printed on it.
I dont see it happening, for the fact that they want to completely milk the cash cow of FF7. If people want the game, theyll pay for spinoffs. Remaking it would basically be a spike through that, since its telling fans 'Were just selling this game for the sake of getting more money out of you', since theres no real need to remake it.
If they ever decided to remake the Final Fantasys, I would probably skip over 7, and get 8 and 9, which were way better. Cloud cant hold a candle to Zidane or Squall.

Cloud cant hold a candle to Zidane or Squall._great_waddles_We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. TBH, It's my opinion that Squall is one of the worst heroes out of all the many RPGs I've played. I didn't enjoy FF8 as much as the others in the series. 9 was decent, but I don't see how you can put it in the same league as 4-7. Oh, and Cloud is an absolutely awesome main character. If you've read the original script to the game (instead of the SONY mistranslated game dialog) you would see that he's probably the best hero to come out of the series. Although I did like Zidane, and Freya From FF9, Laguna, and Quistis from FF8, Vincent from FF7, Shadow and Locke from FF6, Galuf and Krile from FF5, and Rydia from FF4, None of those characters fit the series or mood of the game as well as Cloud did. The spinoff games have nothing to do with the original game. FF7 is probably the best RPG I've played. The only other games that I can imaging putting before it would be Chrono Cross and Secret of Mana, but they have too many flaws to be called as good as FF7. I understand that you feel the other games in the FF series are looked down upon because of the success of ff7, but You can't deny that it's the best game in the series.

Although It's never as exciting as the first time I played it.
