Final Fantasy IV Release

What happened to Final Fantasy IV.. Is it EVER going to come out in NA? I really wanted this game a while ago, now its just seemed to just have died..

just hold on there, dude. it came out on 12/27/2007 in japan, so we'll have to wait a little bit before we can get our hands on it. There's a lot of games out there that we can play til it comes out though. I heard Profesor Layton was AAA.icarus212001

You will have to have patience and you must understand it takes time to translate from Japanese to English. Japan has three alphabets we don't. That is a lot of code to go through. Also sometimes when the people who translate the game some of the jokes don't make any sense at all. It will probably come out this summer. I know that is a long wait but look at this way you would not want a game that is sloppy coming from square enix.

Yeah you got a point. Square Enix really needs its time especially with the FF series. Then again, i already played IV that i imported from japan. Although, even if i am fluent with Japanese, im just waiting for the NA version to see if they added any new features. Oh well.

Yeah you got a point. Square Enix really needs its time especially with the FF series. Then again, i already played IV that i imported from japan. Although, even if i am fluent with Japanese, im just waiting for the NA version to see if they added any new features. Oh well.

I have already played ff 4 on the snes, ps1, gba so the game is not new to me. I have already beaten the game about a million times. I can wait but I still want to play the game. It is the one game that got me into final fantasy games. The game did not die like the user said in the first post just because square enix is not talking about the game does not mean it is dead. Square enix would not dumb enough not to port the game over here. Final fantasy four is one of their top selling games of all time. Just give it time and it will soon will be released.

Yeah, it will probably take a while for SE to release the NA version of FF IV.

In fact, I imported the Japanese game back in Dec. But unfortunately, there are some major bugs found in the game. SE Japan even apologized publicly for the bugs, because the bugs are kinda serious. One causes the airship to become inoperable; the other causes the Ending movie to discontinue. :evil:

I was lucky that I found out about those bugs before I got any further in the game (I read about them on the Japanese FF IV official site). So I think I have prevented myself from triggering any of those... I think... :?

So here's my question, why is it so hard to translate a game that already has come out in america. Wasn't FF IV on the SNES. So don't they already have the english version and they just updated the graphics?cougar65

If I remember correctly (and can be completely wrong on this), the story is going to be different and only a few fan-favorite lines will be the same.

Do you really want to play the original final fantasy tactics script (those of you who played the ps1 version know exactly what I'm talking about) for this?

Ha ha I was going to say that. I have ff 4 on the gba. I like that version because I can take it anywhere. The is perfect for handheld.
