I'm late in posting but I've always wanted to play a FE game and now I have. I downloaded the demo the night it came out and played it the next day and must say it was so fantastic I'm looking forward to it being the next video game I purchase. Consider me a fan of the series now!
Seems like Gamestop cut off preorders today, the girl there said they are worried about being able to fill all orders already in. Amazon has a related notice on their preorder page. I guess they didn't make enough copies, at least not in for the first shipment :PWill47I was pretty bummed they cut off their pre-orders as well. They only have the bundle available, which is tempting, but I'd rather have an XL.
How did you get one? And be sure to tell us how it was! EB Games Canada was selling it early, so I grabbed a copy. The first hour or so is essentially the demo, that's all I've played so far![QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]I picked up my copy today, just played the first two chapters. The opening chapter is different from the demo, but the second one was the same. Sora278

That's good to know, I will check my local Toronto EB. :)

No way!
Question is, how hard can this game get at the easiest settings? I'm not good at video games, so i want to know. I couldn't really go through Advance Wars Dual Strike, if that information is important.hydralisk86well supposedly normal is very straightforward and simple, and you can choose to play on casual mode, where your units don't die permanently. it's pretty noob friendly, it seems.
I assumed that call was just a friendly heads up . Better call them first thing in the morning to be safe as I don't want my copy sold due to that 48 hour garbage they pull. They also didn't make it clear that it was released early so they better not have given my copy away....
I'm replaying Sacred Stones while I wait for this. Is it my imagination or are Ephraim's chapters trickier than his sister's? Once again I'm grinding my teeth as I deal with his Phantom Ship mission - thick fog, swarms of flying foes and nowhere to run.
I always thought of Ephraim's campaign as a hard mode of sorts. And the phantom ship was definitely the hardest mission in the game.I'm replaying Sacred Stones while I wait for this. I think I'm going to have to overcome my defensive tendencies on this one. My opening move is to put all but invincible characters such as Seth and Duessel at the head of the gangways and let the enemy come to the slaughter. But if I keep that up the flyers close in and cut the rest of my force to pieces. I think I need to rush the other ship, clear the gangways and bring everyone across so that we can link up with L'Arachel and Dozla and mount a real defense.
In the meantime I'm replaying Eirika's chapter's :)

You should have leveled up Colm by now to be nearly untouchable. Use him as a walking torch. I don't remember how far along Joshua was by then, but his speed should make him untouchable as well, and if he's been classed up to swordmaster, he should be able to scythe his way through the enemy with ease. Form a ring around an archer or two for the fliers. L'Arachel should also carry a Torch staff. Taking the enemy ship is a good idea. Control as much real estate as possible, THEN defend. You know... as great as this game seems I'll miss when Fire Emblem actually had a distinctive art style.
Back on the GBA the visual style and battle animations were so interesting and unique.
While this game looks nice on my 3DS, visually it could be just about any JRPG.
I mean, look:
First, I'm pretty sure that Lyndis animation has been tampered with. Lyn just tilted her sword, dashed forward, slashed and dashed back, sheathed her sword. Identical to the critical strike, but without the sword-overhead-shadowy move. Second, from what I've seen of the demo, the battles look exactly the same, except rendered in 3D, and with multiple camera angles. You know... as great as this game seems I'll miss when Fire Emblem actually had a distinctive art style.

i used to think the same back when i played PoR... until i started landing critical hits and unlocking offensive skills critical (aether lol). i'm pretty sure this one will be the same. normal attacks look average, critical hits (especially of advanced classes like swordmaster) pull stupidly insane stunts. You know... as great as this game seems I'll miss when Fire Emblem actually had a distinctive art style.
