Is it just me, or does that blue look much darker than the Aqua Blue?
AvatarMan96
I think because it's a glossy finish the color looks slightly differently based on angle and lighting

I wouldn't be surprised if next year a new model is released...Soulreavercross
So if there is a 3DS Lite, it probably won't be next year.

[QUOTE="painguy1"]isn't japan getting it in less than a week? *googles* yeah, about a week. looks pretty real, plus it might be a press copy (like how the press already gets everything weeks earlier so they can produce content in time)Wait...how?

Yes, every single GAME or Gamestation store in the UK has just recieved a fully functional 3DS that they can demonstrate to anyone who walks into the store.

=o America hasn't even started their tour with the 3DS!!! For some reason I don't think that's happening. I hope I get to at least see the 3DS in some sort of kiosk soon or something. I just want to see 3D!!!!! :( :( :(

pretty much, it does seem to be fully packed this time as well as have a really nice compact design. I strongly doubt a new slim or smaller model will come out as it will probably make the battery even worse and the screen even smaller.
They are likely to release an XL one though with maybe a bigger screen and longer battery, but a larger version doesn't interest me at all.
woah...one of the pics in the link shows the bottom of the 3DS and i see no battery compartment lid. its not the clearest pic of the bottom though. is the 3DSs battery replaceable or have ninty sealed it in?osan0the entire back is the battery compartment, it was on a ask nintendo article, and i believe it is still removable.

I'm hoping the battery cover is easily removable (and that either first or third party back up batteries are released)... it'd be nice to have back up battery packs considering the short battery life. It's not something I'd typically need (I won't play for hours at a time unless I'm at home for the most part), but it'd be nice for traveling.
I'm still thinking when new colors will be available.Rod90

Just the red would have been fine with me.

They are not talking about NGP/PSP2. They are talking about the current PSP3000.
On topic: Though Aqua Blue 3ds looks sexy, I opted for Cosmo Black.
I would get the blue one but I dont understand why the whole thing is not blue, I dont like the black thats on the inside upper portion, I dont understand why Nintendo did this, how hard would it be to have the entire handheld one colour??
So you buy the blue, just to get a mish mash of both colours.

If you read the dev interviews on the official 3DS site it's explained that black is used on the upper screen frame because it helps with the 3D effect. The different colors (three when closed and viewed at the side) also have other purposes, such as making it easier for users to open the system.
