I want to get this game and I have a couple of friends that I can play this game with me, but is it really that bad of a game. I don't usually look at reviews, but alot of reviewers are giving it bad reviews and im curious for people who played it with friends is it worth the buy?NoFear24
If you have friends to play with then I would say so.
It is, and even more.
Have you ever played MP4-7? if you have, this is the same game, with very badly done Controls.
Its better if you have other people to play with often, but still...........
I returned it the next day, im saving up for Scarface and RE4......................Â
my friend bought it and when we played it i wasnt really impressed. the minigames werent amazing and their use of the wii remote wasnt that impressive either. the game could have been done with a joystick just fine and no one could have told the difference.RPGamer22

They do use just the controller in some, but it wouldn't be all that smart to not use the Wii-mote's motion sensors at all. And I heard the controls worked fine. They look fine to me.

They're just fine. The only problem is they aren't very innovative, although it's definitely a plus. If you want the game just for the Wii Remote, buy a game like WarioWare: Smooth Moves, or Rayman Raving Rabbits. If you want it just for the party, buy Mario Party 4 or 5.
It's a whole lot of fun. Gamespot's reviewer counted off for the game being pretty much the same as other Mario Party games and also (ridiculously) that the game relies too much on chance and luck. All board games are like that, though, so it's not a valid argument against this type of game.
In response to the online play comments, I think this game would suck playing against random people from miles away. When you play with friends in the room and one of them gets lucky and steals all your coins, you can get angry and yell all in good fun. But over the internet, I don't think it would really be in good fun when you get screwed over by chance when it's people you don't know too well.
I 100% agree. The last mario party game I have was 5, and no matter who I played in that I always won it. I'd win almost all the mini games and then have atleast 4 more stars than anyone else. MP8 seems to equal out the chance and luck more, which is what I want. I want someone to be able to come from last place to first on the last turn. It just makes it more competitive, and with a group of friends, that means more fun. It's a whole lot of fun.
