for people who have had a white lite for awhile now, is it dirty?

Hi guys! I'm picking up a DS lite today to replace my old one. I can't decide between white and black. I like the look of the black but I read some things about the trigger buttons turning yellow. Also I read that your palms can leave tan/yellow marks? So for those of you who have had your polar white one for at least a few months now, is it dirty at all? and if so, does that dirt come off if you clean it a bit? Thanks!

Depends how much you play it, I have had my DS for about 6 months, and the triggers aren't yellow. Problem with black is that you can see your oils on it, which is very annoying. My DS is good condition, but I only really play it at home, or when I am on a vacation in which I play indoors.

You have teh problems backwards. =P
DS Lite Polar White gets the yellow trigger fingers etc.

Black just gets fingerprints.

To be honest, I traded my White in for a Fatty.

I've had the DS Lite since its' launch, and it still looks brand new. mint. The only protection it has is a Hori for the two screens. Other than that, it get's cleaned daily, and it very well taken care of.

I've had my white DS Lite since Christmas and it still looks brand new, I also use it quite a bit each day. However, I always make sure my hands are clean before using it. I would also definately recommend the Hori Screen Protectors, I have them on mine and the screen is crystal clear.

Yeah, my white DS Lite is clean for the most part. Except for the ink marks on it from when I put it in the same pocket as a pen. >.

Dust is collecting in-between the plastic stuff and the L and R buttons are starting to turn yellowish. But I don't really mind. If I really cared about the looks of my consoles I would have waited for a Black DS, or import the Navy Blue DS from Japan.

I brought my white DS lite to summer camp with me, which can be one of the dirtiest place I know. One month later, and it's good as new despite one small scratch you can only see under direct sunlight from dropping it off the top bunk of my bed.

depends on the person.

i've had mine for a year now, and it looks just as good as it did when i bought it. i do basic stuff like wipe the screen and the buttons if they look a little sweaty or something.

someone like my sister would have problems. she has dirt and other grime around the edges and in all the little crevices, so it looks kinda dirty. but even then, hers still isn't that bad looking.

My GF has a white one and we've both been playing it daily for the last 7 months, it's still crystal white but recently she bought a hard cover for it and now she inserts whatever pictures she wants to now. Every month i find it's a different pattern. The buttons are still white as new.

I've had mine for about six months, and the L and R buttons are slightly off-white. But all my other buttons are still pure white as new.

I take care of mine so it isn't dirty at all. the only thing is that the L+R buttons got a little yellow from finger grease. It's really no big deal, though.

I've had mine since it was released in the US. It's still pearly white. :D I clean it every other week, except the little studs at the bottom of it, their brownish. But other than that, it's still clean. :D
