The only reason people hate it is 'cause they're ignorant and don't know they can do Random Wifi battles WITHOUT friend codes. Or the fact that there is a seperate friend code for every game.Eponique
how is that a good thing?

Strikers and Pokemon will have their own seperate Wii Friend's lists and codes. So you'll have to bang the numbers in again to play with friends, I can't believe people find this anything but a retarded system for playing with buddies.
Even though the wii friend codes aren't horrible, I would still like to find an easier way to play with only my friends. I would like it to be simialar to xboxlive without voicechat.

There's your Wii number....and all Wii games will also game specific codes you'd need to add for any friend you want in THAT game. Â Â

Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree uses ur wii system code......speedracer3190
If that's true, what the hell is Nintendo doing? How can there be so many variations on how to play online with the Wii?Â
hmm.. i've been wondering about this for along time..
do u have to put the friendcode in everytime u play? or will the wii store it like a buddy list
b0ssy
No, you only enter the friend code once for a game. If Nintendo did it so that the Wii Console Code was what is used for all games instead, then Friend Codes would just be like have a username on Xbox Live. The thing is, I do not think Nintendo is making it mandatory to have a different Friend Code for the game, just mandatory to use friend codes. If that's the case, 3rd party developers should just use the Wii Console Code, unless of course they do not know how to, which would be the problem. Buf if they use the Wii Console Code, it would be just like having a username on Xbox Live and not be as bothersome.

You know how the Wii has the Address book for your friends Wii Console Number? Well it works the same way in a game. The game keeps an address book of friends code. It's similiar to AIM or MSN. When you add a buddy, they are saved so that they are always in your buddy list when you sign on again. Even after you turn the Wii off, next time you start up a game, the friend code will already be there.
