I'm thinking about picking up some gamecube games to play on my Wii. I have 32" lcd tv and have some questions.
Do gamecube games look stretched on a hdtv? or do they look just like Wii games?

It wont stretch out the image, it'll just display it in the 4:3 ratio, it doesn't look too bad but it can be a bit distracting especially if you're used to 16:9
I've seen some pretty strange examples. I have my Wii on a 42" plasma TV with component cables and it looks sharp and good, Wii and GC games, except the GC ones I have which don't support PS. Now, my brother used to have his Wii connected to a SD TV pretty old, but some Wii games, like Transformers, oddly looked very good. Now he bought a 40" 3D and, man, the games, all of them, look great (in 2d as I only saw MHTri with the simulated 3D), and he's still connecting with standard A/V cables So, in general, I think the TV set is pretty important and the 480p just adds to the games looking the best possible To TC, as the other said, if the GC game supports PS it will look good in you HDTV, and alot of GC support it. Which not many GC games support is widescreen and then you'll see some of them stretched but, likely, you can correct it in your TV. To me is not really aproblem This is the Wikipedia list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GameCube_games_with_480p_and_16:9_support Hope this helps! In my opinion, wii games look twice as better on a SD TV than on an HD TV

Very true, SD hides a lot of the flaws in Wii/GC games. If I had room, I'd have my Wii hooked up to an SDTV all the time. Unfortunately I only have room for my 32" Bravia :P
You people are crazy. Also yes 4:3 Gamecube games will get stretched unless you set your TV on 4:3 mode. There are some widescreen GC games though and they usually look pretty much like Wii games. Most Gamecube games run in 480p too. I just got done playing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year door again and other than the stretching (which you get used to) it looked great on my 42" HDTV.[QUOTE="manicfoot"][QUOTE="martinX3X"]

You people are crazy. Yes they are, either that or something wasn't right with thier connections or something. I just recently got an HDTV and component cables, and basically all Wii games look a lot nicer. And so do GCN games, especially F-Zero and Wind Waker. I just wish Wind Waker had widescreen :(On the HDTV I'm using currently some Wii games do look way better then the others. The TV I use has a tendency to wash out some of the colours for some of my games making them look way worse then normal. The same can probably be said for the GC games, but they usually have more jaggies then the Wii games when I use thatTV.

I just wish Wind Waker had widescreen :( In my experience Wii games look good on a decent HDTV, but mine is a pretty cheap LCD one so it makes all the jaggies really noticeable. Some games look nice like SMG, Super Monkey Ball and Wind Waker while others like No More Heroes look awful. I've turned down the sharpness, but that doesn't help.[QUOTE="AlmightyDerek"][QUOTE="manicfoot"]
