Overview -

"Zack & Wiki is the sort of weirdly engaging game that, dare we say it, probably could only really be done on the Wii hardware."

Precise moving, "nearly all game mechanics work flawlessly".

Clever puzzle designs, easy at first, but picking up in difficulty - challenging.

Game does have replay value - multiple ways to solve some puzzles, hidden treasures and islands.

"Title characters are basically irrelavant.", isn't much of a story.

"...bit grating to hear Wiki's high-pitched exclamations throughout longer play sessions"

"Ultimately it doesn't matter that much, since the level designs and puzzles are the real star of the show."

"Zack & Wiki might just be one of the nicest-looking games on the Wii, thanks in no small part to the game's sharp artwork."

EDIT: 8.5 is a good score but if ur docking points because of weak voice acting/stroy?? when do you ever see that in good/bad unless its GOOD? ....meh w/e

Ya it probabaly deserved a 8.9 at the least. Im used to GS crapping on their scores. I dont see how a game witrh no actual gameplay flaws could score lower than 8.9. See they dont have the outline anymore for Gameplay, Graphics, Tilt, Sound so they can give all the games what ever score they want.

I don't know why you guys are complaining. It got an AA. If Gamespot and IGN both give it a score within that range, then we've got a high AA-low AAA on our hands.Wii60always

Neither do I. :/ 8.5/10 is a great score. That's what MP3 scored on GameSpot.

Also, it's been getting A-AA scores in all reviews out so far. Besides a few mid 7's.

theres only a bunch of good things with this game. I cant find any actual agmeplay flaws except for brief atory and voice work but other than that graphics look good, sound is good, gameplay good. there is nothing wrong with it. In fact this is one of those games where motion sensing really advacnes the genre.

I dont understand how much they could downplay from brief story.....

There is no problem with an 8.5 rating.

Some people feel the need to show "evidence" of Gamespot's "bias" by getting upset over a .5 difference even though the rating in question is in fact higher than the average critic score.

With a 9 from IGN and an 8.5 from GS, this seems to be a great game. I'll probably be picking it up soon.

Oh, and get over the "GS is teh biased" BS. The only review that was biased was MP3 and maybe TP. It scored 8.5!! That's a AAE for the Wii (something we haven't seen much of)! GI gave it 8.25, so how can GS be biased for scoring it higher than THEM? This review is on par with most sites, get over it (and so was SPM).

Adventure games are expected to have good stories. That this one doesn't is a bit of a letdown.

Anyway, 8.5 is an excellent score. I hope this ends all whining that Gamespot is biased against Nintendo. Not that I think it will.

Haha. It's bound to happen, Jordan. @@; Especially on GameSpot forums. At least the majority of us think that 8.5 is a great score.

The price isn't the main selling point for me. I had a spare 50 dollars since Brawl was delayed. But yet, the puzzles. I've been looking for a challenging puzzle game for a while. And according to IGN the Puzzles are the best they've seen in a decade, and the quality and consistency is just insane. The 40 dollar pricetag on it is a bonus. :]
